Thanks to Sourcemore, the latest member of the Geekvape Aegis series, the Boost 3 PODMod Kit!, has arrived for a review. The Boost 3 also received the IP68 rating characteristic of the Aegis, which we also call Tri-Proof. This means it is water, dust, and shock resistant, so almost nothing can damage it, as we have come to expect from the Aegis series. The AS Chip 4.0 ensures constant output voltage, making even the last puff perfect. The Boost 3’s user interface has been completely redesigned; it does everything its bigger siblings do, but in a slightly more attractive package. We can adjust the voltage up to a maximum of 60 Watts, and it is compatible with B series atomizers, whose resistances (0.2, 0.3, 0.4, 0.6 Ohm) make it clear that this is a device designed for DTL use! Of course, the Boost 3 also inherited the temperature-sensing Smart Lock, which I still think is the coolest feature in the third generation of Aegis. Its dimensions are 42.5 x 121.5mm, which is just right for a PODMod.
The zinc alloy device is available in 8 colors: teal, rainbow purple, black, sunset red, silver, midnight red, midnight gold, and sapphire blue. I received the midnight red, although I was hoping for the sunset red. I don’t regret it at all that it wasn’t in stock; the black and red match each other exceptionally well!

Box Contents and Getting to Know the Device
There isn’t much in the box, just a USB cable (Type-C, of course), a coil puller, and an O-ring that I still don’t know where it’s for… We also get a spare atomizer with a 0.6 Ohm resistance. And, of course, the indispensable user manual and other papers like the warranty card.
On the front, we see the Smart fire button, below it the 0.96" TFT display, further down the navigation buttons, and finally the USB-C port, through which we can quickly charge the built-in 3000mAh battery (which is quite large) at 5V/2A.
The sides are very plain, with nothing on them except the Geekvape logo. The back is a bit more interesting, as the leather-effect cover hides the Smart Lock sensor, which unlocks the device by sensing body heat. Incidentally, the Boost logo is also located here, which blends into its surroundings but is present.
On the PODMod connector, we see 2 recessed contacts, allowing the atomizer tip to fit inside the housing. The POD head might look familiar, as the Boost 2 POD head has been adapted for the Boost 3, so you won’t find it listed as a Boost 3 cartridge when ordering. The atomizer is from the B series, with resistances of 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, and 0.6 Ohm. Of these, the 0.2 Ohm one comes pre-installed. The drip tip is removable but not replaceable, though this makes it easy to keep clean.
The 5ml POD head has a filling port on the front, which is large enough to fill from any bottle, but unfortunately, due to the drip tip, it’s difficult to access with Chubby Gorilla bottles. On the back, we see the airflow control slider, which is a bit stiff to adjust at first, but loosens up a bit later and fortunately doesn’t shift in a coat or pants pocket. The POD head features top airflow and a leak-proof and spill-proof design, which it adheres to perfectly!
As we can see, the menu system doesn’t have too many items, so it will be easy to find what we’re looking for. The first menu item is Mode, which lists the modes. This Boost 3 is quite a smart little gadget; it has Smart, Power, Boost, Memory, Eco, and even TC-TCR. I don’t think I need to explain any of these modes further, but it’s worth noting that the Boost mode is the equivalent of Bypass. The second menu item is Lock, where Touch Lock is set by default, which we also call Smart Lock. It’s important to know that the device unlocks by sensing body heat, so it won’t fire if you’re not holding it, e.g., in a bag. Fire Lock means it disables the temperature sensor in the fire button. Button Lock, as the name suggests, locks the navigation buttons. Unlock disables the temperature sensor, i.e., the Smart Lock, or as written, the Touch Lock. The third menu item is Puff, where we can see the puff count in slightly larger numbers and reset it. The fourth menu item is Color, where we can change the user interface color from the default orange to white, blue, purple, or green. Finally, the fifth menu item is About, where we can check the version number or reset the device to factory settings.
The Boost 3 seemed like a very robust little PODMod at first glance, but let’s see if it really is. So, let’s get to the usual…
ReviewMivel egy PODMod-ról beszélünk ezért a méreteit olvasva bár kicsit robosztusnak tűnhet, de kézben tartva rájövünk, hogy ekkora méretekkel rendelkezik egy valamire való PODMod. A súlya a beépített akkuval sem nehéz, tehát ilyen szempontból (ideértve a méreteit is) ennél kézbeillőbb PODMod nem sok van és ezt főleg a lekerekített tervezésnek köszönhetjük ami mindent tökéletesen kiegyensúlyoz. Az anyaghasználat szokás szerint tökéletes. Nem hajlandó kopni, ütődés hatására pedig a festés sem verődik le. A töltőnyílásnál használt gumidugó elég könnyen kihúzható, főleg ha liquid-es, de ennek ellenére olyannyira passzentosan a helyén van, hogy véletlenségből nem tud kinyílni. A másik gumifelület a készülék talpán található ami nemcsak az eséstől véd, de fura mód számomra tök jó asztalra tenni, szinte hangtalan, nem kopog ahogy egy fém készülék szokott és ez pl. egy gyakori fejfájással vagy migrénnel küzdő felhasználó számára bizony sokat jelenthet. Viszont kissé keskenynek találom a talpát, ami miatt sajnos nálam már borult néhányszor. Ezt még mindig nem sikerült nagyobbra terveznie a Geekvape-nek. Sokkal komfortosabb lenne, ha nem lenne az a lekerekítés a gombok alatt a talpánál és máris nem borulna, ha mondjuk valaki meglöki az asztalt amire letettük. De persze ezt is ki lehet küszöbölni, csak számomra olykor zavaró tud lenni. A drip tip kényelmes, bár kár, hogy nem helyettesíthető egyéni drip tip-el, viszont mivel levehető így tisztítani könnyű. A küllemébe annyira nem tudok belekötni ugyanis a Geekvape hozta a szokásos elpusztíthatatlan minőséget low budget kategóriában. A tűzgomb nyomáspontja az egész gomb alatt megtalálható, így téve kényelmessé a használatot. A tűzgombot nem kell izomból nyomni ugyanis elég könnyen nyomható, ami bármelyik másik gyártónál negatívum lenne, de az Aegis harmadik szériájában lévő Touch Lock-nak köszönhetően nem kell aggódnunk amiatt, hogy könnyen nyomódik e vagy sem, mert az említett Touch Lock teljes biztonságban tartja számunkra a Boost 3-at. A tűzgombbal ellentétben a kétoldalú navigációs gombot picit nehezen hozzáférhetőnek találtam. Nem vészes, csak mintha nem lenne egy síkban a házzal és megsimogatva is billeg kicsit. Ennek ellenére nem okozott gondot a navigáció és úgy alapból a készülék használata sem. A PODfej és a készülék mágnesei rendkívül erősek ami miatt külső behatás meg sem hatja. Bár emiatt porlasztó cserénél kivenni is picit nehezebb, de ehhez úgy gondolom hozzá lehet szokni. Egyébként is inkább ez, mint egy laza mágnesekkel rendelkező készülék. A porlasztót kézzel is könnyű kivenni, de ha mégsem menne kapunk a csomagban hozzá segítségül egy hangvillát, alias coil kiszedőt. A kijelző eléggé nagy, jól látható minden adat rajta és elég interaktívra sikeredett a megújult felhasználói felület. A menüt egyszerű használni, nincs semmi pikantéria benne és a tűzgomb-nyomás utáni tűz animáció is látványosra sikeredett. A menüt illetően talán egyetlen apró negatívumot találtam ami a fehér szín használatát illeti. Ha kiválasztjuk a fehér témát a menü feliratai nem váltanak feketére, hanem ugyanúgy fehérek maradnak így a menüben való turkáláskor a felirat egybemosódik a fehér téma színével. De ez sem akkora probléma, csupán nem kell azt a színt használni.
Az akkun érezhető az a 3000mAh ugyanis elég sokáig bírta a 0.2 Ohm-os porlasztóval is. Aktív használat mellett egy teljes napot lehozott nálam és még másnap is volt benne néhány óra üzemidő, tehát összességében nagyjából 12-14 óra amit teljesen feltöltött akkuval lehozott a legalacsonyabb ellenállású porlasztóval. Azt azért hozzá kell tennem, hogy az ajánlott Watt tartománya a 0.2 Ohm-os porlasztónak 50-58 Watt ami alapból rettenetesen sokalltam, de egy rövid ideig tartó használat után beláttam, hogy Power módusban többre megyek a 0.2-essel. Felére vettem a levegőt és levettem 32 Watt-ra a teljesítményt. Így már nem volt annyira sok, 50 Watt-on ugyanis egyszerűen túl sok volt a jóból. A 32 Watt-al és fél levegővel is elég erőteljes volt, de legalább nem túlzóan. Tehát az a 12-14 óra üzemidő az 32 Watt-al értendő! (Véleményem szerint, ha valaki 50 Watt-on vagy az felett használja a 0.2 Ohm-os porlasztót, azért a 8-10 órát annak is ki kell szolgálnia.) Azért az pozitívum, hogy nem kell teljesen kihasználni a készülék maximális teljesítményét a jó élmény érdekében. Ezért jár a piros pont a Geekvape-nek! Az ízre abszolút nincs panaszom, a porlasztó nagyon jól ad vissza minden ízt bőséges gőz tarsaságában. Ráadásul 2 hetet simán kibírt a porlasztó, tehát gazdaságosnak is mondható. Viszont mikor már nagyon kevés liquid van a PODfejben akkor picit már nehezen veszi fel a porlasztó vattája, ami teljesen érthető, csak ilyenkor ha nem várunk eleget akkor gyakrabban kell billegtetni a készüléket, hogy rendesen magába igya az utolsó cseppeket is. Ha ezt nem tesszük meg, vatta íz is társul az íz mellé és elkezd melegedni is a porlasztó a gőzzel egyetemben. Bár ez szerintem csak ízváltásnál válik lényegessé, mikor teljesen le akarjuk üríteni a PODfejet. Hogy pozitívan fogjuk fel ezt a kialakításból adódó teljesen érthető apró problémát, akkor legalább tudjuk mikor fog kifogyni. A folyásmentes PODfejet is érdemes megemlíteni, ugyanis mivel felső levegőzést kapott a PODfej, így mikor kivesszük a PODfejet teljesen száraz az érintkező és környéke ami sok bosszúságtól ment meg! Az akkuval kapcsolatban majdnem el is felejtettem írni, hogy a töltöttség kijelzés 10db csíkból áll, tehát 10%-ként megy le egyet, amivel jobban követhető a hátralévő üzemidő. Ami még említésre méltó, hogy mikor töltőn van a készülék és hozzáérünk, vagy felemeljük akkor azt láthatjuk számokkal kiírva, hogy épp mennyit töltött az akkuba ami amúgy szintén elég interaktív. Nagyjából 1 óra alatt tölt fel 0-ról 100%-ra ami nagyon is gyors a 3000mAh-t tekintve.
Eddig szinte csak pozitív élményben volt részem a Boost 3-al! Ami pedig nem volt annyira pozitív azt is hamar el lehetett hárítani és azok nem is nevezhetőek igazi problémának, tehát mondhatjuk, hogy egy problémamentes és jól használható RDL PODMod készülék került most a boncasztalomra! No, de most összesítsük a fent írtakat egy pró kontra listába.
Pró 
- Könnyű használat. Maga a készüléket egyszerű és könnyű kezelni. A menüt szintén könnyű kezeli, ráadásul könnyen megjegyezhető és jól átlátható mivel nincs túl sok menüpont, csupán a legfontosabbak.
- AS Chip 4.0. A chipset-nek köszönhetően az elsőtől az utolsó slukkig ugyanolyan intenzitással porlaszt ami tökéletes élményt biztosít.
- Gyors töltés. A 3000mAh-s akkut nagyjából 1 óra alatt tölt 0-100%-ra ami elég jó egy ilyen nagy kapacitású akkuhoz képest.
- Könnyű újratöltés. A PODfej elején található nagy töltőnyílásnak köszönhetően könnyű és gyors az újratöltés. Viszont sajnos Chubby Gorilla flakonból picit nehéz tölteni.
- Erős mágnes. A készülékben és a PODfejen található mágnesek egyaránt elég erősek aminek köszönhetően tökéletesen ellenáll a külső behatásokra.
- 5ml űrtartalom. A PODfej 5ml-es űrtartalma sokáig elegendő liquid-et biztosít.
- Folyásmentes dizájn és felső levegőzés. E két jellemző együtt jár, ugyanis a felső levegőzésnek nem kevés köze van ahhoz, hogy száraz maradjon a PODfej alatti csatlakozó és annak környéke illetve mivel felső levegőzésű így a folyás abszolút nem jellemző.
- Ízes porlasztó. A Boost 3 B series porlasztókkal használható amiknek kiváló ízvisszaadása és gőzképzése van.
- Touch Lock. Számomra még mindig kiemelendő pozitívum a Touch Lock ami miatt 100%-os biztonságban tudhatjuk a készüléket.
Kontra 
- Túl keskeny talp. Az egyetlen igazi negatívum egy kis semmiség. Bár engem zavart, hogy olykor sikerült eldőlnie a készüléknek csupán attól, hogy véletlen meglökték az asztalt amire a Boost 3-at tettem.
Since we are talking about a PODMod, reading its dimensions might make it seem a bit robust, but holding it in hand, we realize that this is the size a proper PODMod should have. Its weight, even with the built-in battery, is not heavy, so from this perspective (including its dimensions), there aren’t many more hand-friendly PODMods, and we owe this mainly to the rounded design which balances everything perfectly. The material usage is, as usual, perfect. It doesn’t wear out, and the paint doesn’t chip upon impact. The rubber plug used at the charging port is quite easy to pull out, especially if it’s liquid-covered, but despite this, it fits so snugly in place that it cannot open accidentally. The other rubber surface is on the base of the device, which not only protects it from drops but, strangely, I find it great for placing on a table; it’s almost silent, doesn’t rattle like a metal device usually does, and this can mean a lot for a user who frequently suffers from headaches or migraines. However, I find its base a bit narrow, which is why it has unfortunately tipped over a few times for me. Geekvape still hasn’t managed to design this larger. It would be much more comfortable if there wasn’t that rounding under the buttons at its base, and it wouldn’t tip over if, for example, someone bumped the table it’s placed on. But of course, this can be overcome; it’s just that for me, it can sometimes be annoying. The drip tip is comfortable, although it’s a shame it cannot be replaced with a custom drip tip, but since it’s removable, it’s easy to clean. I can’t fault its appearance much, as Geekvape has delivered its usual indestructible quality in the low-budget category. The pressure point of the fire button is located under the entire button, making its use comfortable. You don’t need to press the fire button with force, as it’s quite easy to press, which would be a negative for any other manufacturer, but thanks to the Touch Lock in the third series of the Aegis, we don’t have to worry about whether it’s easily pressed or not, because the aforementioned Touch Lock keeps the Boost 3 completely safe for us. Unlike the fire button, I found the dual navigation buttons slightly difficult to access. It’s not terrible, just as if they weren’t flush with the body, and they wobble a bit even when stroked. Despite this, navigation and the overall use of the device were not problematic. The magnets in the POD and the device are extremely strong, making it impervious to external impacts. Although this makes it a bit harder to remove when changing the atomizer, I think one can get used to it. Besides, it’s better than a device with loose magnets. The atomizer is easy to remove by hand, but if it’s still difficult, we get a tuning fork, aka coil puller, in the package to help. The display is quite large, all data is clearly visible on it, and the renewed user interface has turned out to be quite interactive. The menu is simple to use, there’s nothing tricky about it, and the fire animation after pressing the fire button has also turned out to be spectacular. Regarding the menu, I found perhaps one minor negative point concerning the use of white color. If we select the white theme, the menu texts do not change to black but remain white, so when browsing the menu, the text blends in with the color of the white theme. But this isn’t a big problem either; you just don’t have to use that color.
The 3000mAh battery is noticeable because it lasted quite a long time even with the 0.2 Ohm atomizer. With active use, it lasted me a full day and still had a few hours of runtime the next day, so in total, it lasted about 12-14 hours on a full charge with the lowest resistance atomizer. I must add that the recommended Watt range for the 0.2 Ohm atomizer is 50-58 Watts, which I initially found excessively high, but after a short period of use, I realized I get more out of the 0.2 Ohm in Power mode. I halved the airflow and reduced the power to 32 Watts. This way, it wasn’t so much; at 50 Watts, it was simply too much of a good thing. With 32 Watts and half airflow, it was still quite powerful, but at least not excessive. So, that 12-14 hours of battery life is with 32 Watts! (In my opinion, if someone uses the 0.2 Ohm atomizer at 50 Watts or above, it should still last 8-10 hours.) It’s a positive that you don’t have to fully utilize the device’s maximum power for a good experience. This deserves a red dot for Geekvape! I have absolutely no complaints about the flavor; the atomizer reproduces all flavors very well with abundant vapor. Moreover, the atomizer lasted a solid 2 weeks, so it can be considered economical. However, when there’s very little liquid left in the POD, the atomizer’s cotton struggles to absorb it, which is completely understandable. Only in such cases, if we don’t wait long enough, we have to tilt the device more often for it to properly soak up the last drops. If we don’t do this, a cotton taste will accompany the flavor, and the atomizer will start to heat up along with the vapor. Although I think this only becomes significant when changing flavors, when we want to empty the POD completely. To view this completely understandable minor issue arising from the design positively, at least we know when it’s about to run out. The leak-proof POD is also worth mentioning, as it has top airflow, so when you remove the POD, the connector and its surroundings are completely dry, saving a lot of hassle! Regarding the battery, I almost forgot to mention that the charge indicator consists of 10 bars, meaning it goes down by one every 10%, making it easier to track the remaining battery life. What’s also worth noting is that when the device is charging and you touch or lift it, you can see the exact amount it has charged into the battery displayed numerically, which is also quite interactive. It charges from 0 to 100% in about 1 hour, which is very fast considering the 3000mAh capacity.
So far, I’ve had almost exclusively positive experiences with the Boost 3! And what wasn’t so positive could be quickly resolved and isn’t even considered a real problem, so we can say that a problem-free and easy-to-use RDL PODMod device has landed on my dissection table! Now, let’s summarize the above in a pros and cons list.
Pros
- Ease of Use. The device itself is simple and easy to operate. The menu is also easy to handle, moreover, it’s easy to remember and well-structured as there aren’t too many menu items, only the most important ones.
- AS Chip 4.0. Thanks to the chipset, it atomizes with the same intensity from the first puff to the last, providing a perfect experience.
- Fast Charging. The 3000mAh battery charges from 0-100% in about 1 hour, which is quite good for such a high-capacity battery.
- Easy Refilling. Thanks to the large filling port on the front of the POD, refilling is easy and quick. However, it’s a bit difficult to fill from a Chubby Gorilla bottle.
- Strong Magnets. The magnets in the device and the POD are both quite strong, making it perfectly resistant to external impacts.
- 5ml Capacity. The 5ml capacity of the POD provides enough liquid for a long time.
- Leak-proof Design and Top Airflow. These two features go hand in hand, as the top airflow significantly contributes to the connector under the POD and its surroundings remaining dry, and since it has top airflow, leaking is absolutely not characteristic.
- Flavorful Atomizer. The Boost 3 can be used with B series atomizers, which have excellent flavor reproduction and vapor production.
- Touch Lock. For me, the Touch Lock is still a standout positive feature, ensuring the device is 100% safe.
Cons
- Too Narrow Base. The only real negative is a minor one. Although it bothered me that the device occasionally tipped over just from accidentally bumping the table it was placed on.
—Overall, I was not disappointed! We are talking about a very well-built device, whose atomizers have excellent flavor reproduction and outstanding vapor production. The 5ml leak-proof POD head and the 3000mAh battery together can be very convenient. The menu is simple, interactive, and easy to use. Although the Geekvape Aegis Boost 3 was designed for RDL, I believe that anyone looking for an all-knowing POD Mod with good specifications, whether MTL or RDL, should definitely not miss out on this device from their repertoire!
