The recipe recommendations on the site, how should I put it? At best, unbelievable.
Before I start, can someone tell me if they are really so concentrated that 2-4-6% is enough?
I come from the fruit line, specifically the Drifter Bar line, which is quite concentrated. Lately, I’ve been mixing it for 240ml instead of 120ml. I’ve also used tobacco ones, e.g., OGF Butterscotch, but as I recall, there was a much higher percentage of flavor concentrate in the bottle… I know this type of mixing is inherently different from the ‘just fill and enjoy’ method, but still. I hope to get advice from someone who has already used FlavorHook.
What arrived: Chestnut Indian, Cherry Cigar, RY4, Pistachio
For me, RY4 is only 1%, and that's more than enough. There was a time when I mixed it at 2% and it tasted like soap. I think 1% is enough for chestnut too… For me, cherry cigar is almost unvapeable, its taste is very disturbing… But to each their own. Maybe you'll like it, try 1% and if it's not enough, then mix more in…
For me, however, 10% proved to be too little. Next time, I’ll try 20% and then go down from there. Yes, the chestnut is also vaprable at 10%, but for me, it could be a bit more flavorful. Tastes differ, and so do tanks.
That’s why I recommend you be careful, if you over-flavor it, you can’t dilute it back, unfortunately it will remain soapy… Personal experience… If there’s too little, you can always add more, but if there’s too much, it will remain that way.
Status report after 3 days! I know, I know, it takes time!.. With 24-hour breaks, it was on a heated magnetic stirrer 3 times for 2 hours! Now, I’ve tasted the cherry cigar. I wouldn’t call 10% a lot, nor little, at first impression. The cigar isn’t overdone, but you can tell it’s not just plain cherry!
I also tried the RY4… that was a big hit back in the day, if I recall correctly. This is my first time getting to try it… Not bad! It reminds me a lot of something… maybe from my childhood when my throat hurt and I coughed, my mom made burnt crystal sugar on a spoon, or that rooster lollipop? Somehow, that’s what comes to mind for me about it… The main point is, it seems to me that these FlavorHook flavors will be quite pleasant. Although, I’ll be curious about them in, say, 2-3 weeks.
I also mix with a magnetic heating mixer, but afterwards I put it into an ultrasonic cleaner together with the bottle. This way I reduce the steeping time. I vape desserts.
