Ever since I first saw it, I was curious about Voopoo’s new product, called the E120 PODMod Kit, which I received from HealthCabin. As its name suggests, it can deliver a maximum of 120 Watts and is compatible with PnP X coils. The GENE TT 2.0 Chip works inside it, thanks to which we always experience intense flavors until the moment of complete discharge. It automatically detects the resistance, so by default it is Smart, which sets the Wattage according to the resistance. It does have an upper limit, which the manufacturer calls maximum power protection, but it has no lower limit. Speaking of protection, it also includes protection against short circuits, overcharging, output overcurrent, overheating, and low battery level, although I think these are standard in every device. Furthermore, one puff can last a maximum of 8 seconds. The built-in 4500mAh battery is huge by default, but it can last up to 10 days if we choose the 1 Ohm coil for the device and produce a maximum of 250 puffs per day. With the 0.3 Ohm coil, it can last up to 5 days, calibrated for 250 puffs here as well, which I managed to achieve, and even a little more. Beyond that, no matter how much we puff, it will last at least 2 days guaranteed. Its dimensions are 23.6 x 46.6 x 115mm including the POD head, which is not only large when read, but the device is indeed quite large.

The E120, equipped with an aluminum alloy casing, was released in 7 colors: purple, metallic gray, rose red, silver, black, blue, and champagne gold. The purple one came to me, which I think has a slightly lighter shade compared to the picture above. Nothing remains but to move forward!
Voopoo Vinci E120 PODMod Kit Review
Box Contents and Getting Acquainted with the Device
Not much comes with the E120; just a USB cable, a 0.15 Ohm coil besides the 0.3 Ohm coil already in the POD head, the user manual, and a small guide about PnP X coils.

Most of the front panel is occupied by the huge 2.44" TFT display, and the fire button is located above it. There isn’t much interesting on the back, just the Voopoo lettering.

The sides are more interesting. Almost everything is placed on the right side, but the most interesting thing here is that the two small holes visible at the top cannot be closed; they ensure airflow for the MTL POD heads. Below them, we find the navigation buttons, and below those, a slider button that locks the navigation buttons and the fire button. At the very bottom is the USB-C connection through which we can charge the by no means small 4500mAh battery at 5V/2A. The charging time is not long for this, only 1.5 hours. On the left side, the adjustable airflow inlet is located, which is necessary for the DTL POD head. Below it, the Voopoo Vinci lettering is faintly visible.

The factory-supplied Vinci PnP X Cartridge POD head is a DTL head, which is also written on it, precisely because an MTL POD head can also be purchased for the device, so we won’t mix them up. Although I don’t think the POD heads could be mixed up anyway, as the inside of the mouthpiece on the MTL POD head is narrower. Not only the display and the battery are gigantic, the POD head capacity is 5ml, which is quite something overall. The filling opening on the side is not that large compared to the size of the POD head, and if it is in the device, you cannot fill it with a Chubby Gorilla bottle, but filling it with a narrower bottle can be done quite quickly. At the bottom of the POD head, there are two air inlets and 4 magnets that hold it firmly in place. Changing the coil is also quick and easy because you just need to reach under the edges of the coil with your fingernail and you can pull it out.

We also get a slightly basic menu with the device, which we can access by pressing the navigation buttons simultaneously. With this device, you don’t have to hold the buttons down for 3 seconds, as is usually the case. The first menu item is Clock Theme, where we first see 2 clock faces; we unlock the rest when we reach the specified puff count. The second menu item is Time Calibration, where we can set the exact time, as the E120’s clock shows midnight upon first power-on. The third menu item is Screen Lock, where we can set how long we want to see the clock, which also serves as a screensaver. The default setting is 1 minute, but we can set a maximum of 30 minutes. Finally, we also get an Exit option if we don’t want to change anything after all, and just checked if the menu items are still there. Otherwise, there is nothing else in the device, which means there is no Bypass, no TC, no other fancy features—we can only adjust the Wattage, but even that is limited because, as I mentioned, there is an upper limit, which is 40 Watts for the 0.3 coil; it won’t go higher, but we can go lower as much as we want because there is no lower limit.

I think it’s worth noting that having a large display device is good because the data isn’t cluttered, and there’s still room for a bit of neatness. Of course, the latter is subjective, but I like that the display isn’t bare by default. However, the clock appears as a screensaver too quickly. They could have extended that 3 seconds to, say, 10 seconds, and then we wouldn’t have to press the fire button if we wanted to check, for example, the battery level. 30 Watts at idle associated with such a low resistance heats up the coil quite a bit, so they could have increased those 3 seconds. Of course, this is not a problem either, because we can check it after one puff, but I have to nitpick; that’s the life of a reviewer…

Pretty neat so far, isn’t it? But is its actual performance as outstanding as its specifications? We’ll find out shortly.
Review
The aluminum alloy casing holds up quite well to rough handling. It has come into contact with zippers and keys, and so far not a single scratch has appeared, neither on the casing nor on the display. The airflow slider is quite stable; it doesn’t move on its own. The sliding button moves easily, but not too easily. However, the navigation buttons are quite easy to press, so it is advisable to use the sliding pocket lock if the device needs to be carried in a bag, for example. In contrast, when carried in a trouser pocket, it doesn’t get pressed accidentally, but when taking it out, I managed to accidentally adjust the Wattage because the navigation buttons are quite high up, and that’s exactly where I gripped it when removing it. I think the firing button is a bit small, perhaps only because of its rim, but it is manageable. I was very happy that the display is not too bright, as it doesn’t hurt the eyes. The same applies to all the watch faces I have unlocked so far. The device’s menu, the back panel, and the watch screensaver consist of dark colors, so none of them are bothersome at all. The Mount Everest wallpaper shown in the picture above is permanent; you cannot change it, only the screensaver displaying the time can be replaced. When the pocket lock is engaged, it locks the firing button and the navigation buttons, so we cannot adjust the Wattage in the locked state, but we can still enter the menu by pressing the two navigation buttons simultaneously. The menu is extremely simple to use; I believe it requires no special explanation, as you have seen the menu items above. Perhaps the only interesting thing about this is that after setting the time, you must press and hold the firing button to save the time. The clock doesn’t lag or rush, nor does the device do anything like that when turned off, so we can rely on it completely, at least we won’t be staring at our phones… Speaking of the off state, if we completely drain the device, it turns itself off and cannot be turned back on until we plug it in to charge. The magnets on the POD head hold perfectly during use, although it wobbles a bit when moved by hand, but this can be attributed to its large size, as smaller things always fit better in place. The maximum battery life I could squeeze out of the device was 5 days and a little bit more. On the morning of the 6th day, it only had 10% left with 240-250 puffs per day. If I used it more, and although I tried to use it as much as possible, I got roughly a little more than double that, which means 500-550 puffs daily, and even then, the battery managed well for 2-2.5 days. I think this is definitely outstanding. Although the device itself is quite large, I wouldn’t call it heavy. It has the perfect weight for its dimensions, which makes me a little envious… It charges the battery from 0 to 100% in about 1.5 hours, which is 90 minutes, but during charging, it displays that it will charge in 99 minutes, though it shaves off a little time during the process. It is recommended to charge it with the factory cable because it is not compatible with every phone cable. With a Motorola cable, the charging screen flashed every half minute, which means the contact was poor with that cable. However, it works flawlessly with a Samsung cable, so it seems the cable we use matters. Everyone will experience this for themselves, but if there is any issue with your own cable, there is the E120 cable in the box that will cause no problems.
It is initially a bit difficult to access the charging port of the POD head if it is in the device, but it becomes manageable later. However, if you charge the head while it is in the POD, you can only fill it from a narrow bottle. The 5ml capacity is considered quite large, and with the 0.3 Ohm atomizer, it roughly corresponds to 250 puffs per day, maybe a bit more, so don’t leave home without liquid if you are using the 0.3 one, because 250 puffs isn’t that much. The flavor is perfect, and I have no complaints about the vapor either. The PnP X atomizers are outstanding in this regard. It doesn’t heat up even with restricted airflow and chain vaping. But here I would note that the right-side MTL airflow cannot be closed, so it receives cooling from both sides. The area under the POD head is completely dry, which also indicates good cooling. The atomizer lasted me a solid 2 weeks even with liquids that were not entirely free of residue, which is also outstanding. The drip tip part of the POD head is quite comfortable, so using it can be very comfortable.
Pros
- Aluminum alloy casing. Thanks to the material of the casing, it does not scratch, and as we already know, a metal-cased product is always better.
- Easy, comfortable use and Smart mode. The menu is easy to use; everything is clearly laid out. The POD head’s drip tip is comfortable. In addition to these, the default Smart mode sets the Wattage for us, which does have an upper limit, but we can adjust it downwards without restriction.
- Fast charging. The 4500mAh battery charges in what can be called record time, which is 1.5 hours. Of course, you can use the device while charging, but then the charging time is slightly extended.
- Light weight. Despite its robust size, it can be considered quite light, which is quite positive, as it is comfortable to carry in a trouser pocket.
- Flavorful atomizers with huge vapor production. The PnP X atomizers were already known for their excellent flavor reproduction and huge vapor production, which, of course, are not lacking in the case of the E120.
- GENE TT 2.0 Chip. Voopoo’s chipset excels again this time. The flavor intensity, the speed of vaporization, and the extremely short ramp-up time are all features that suit our taste.
- No lower limit for maximum output voltage. This became my favorite feature in the E120 because there are many situations where I need to lower the Wattage even further—for example, I prefer cool vapor, but there is nowhere lower to set it because Smart mode restricts me. Fortunately, this device has no lower limit, only an upper one, so you can always tailor your vaping experience to your own needs. And with this, it is time for me to award the User-Friendly Special Award after a long time, which this feature has won!
- Large display, eye-pleasing colors. The advantage of the large display is that there is plenty of space for everything, and the fact that they used colors that are not bothersome to the eyes is a huge bonus.
- 4500mAh battery. The huge battery provides us with 2 to 10 days of battery life, which can vary depending on our usage habits, but I think everyone will get a minimum of 2 days of battery life. With the 0.3 atomizer, 5 days of battery life with 250 puffs per day is guaranteed!
Cons
- Hard-to-access charging port. If the charging port of the POD head were not slightly difficult to access, this device would be perfect. But unfortunately, or perhaps not so unfortunately, you can only fill the head from a narrow bottle if it is inserted in the device.
Finally, I believe that the E120 is lovable not only because of its huge parameters but also because of its usability and user-friendliness. Although it might be slightly too simple and lacks extras other than Power mode, what it does, it does very well! Thanks to the 4500mAh battery, it can do it for a long time! If someone happens to be looking for a cool PODMod that shows the time and has excellent flavor and vapor, they shouldn’t think twice, as the Voopoo Vinci E120 is a perfect choice!
