Returning vaper interest

Hi everyone!
I’m a returning vaper. I quit some time ago, right before/during the scandal. I’ve tried looking around in webshops, with and without a VPN. I found a couple, like on .store and .cc, but their stock is quite sparse. Has it completely died out here in Hungary? Flavor concentrates are still somewhat available, coils here and there, but for example, I can’t find Chubby Gorilla bottles anymore. I still have some e-liquid stashed away, which may or may not be good. I’ll try it, but the tank is still soaking in the sink because the residue has dried in… :smiley: So, the TLDR is my question: is it still possible to get these things here, or do I just not have the contacts, or should I look into an IQOS if I occasionally want to puff? I’ve even looked at nicotine-free options; I don’t necessarily need the nicotine anymore, but my body would appreciate the social shisha feeling alongside a good drink. But then again, I’ve only found a few shady websites besides that.
I ordered 1L of PG+VG each, thankfully they couldn’t ban those, but I’m afraid there won’t be anything sensible to flavor it with.
I know you can’t share links and stuff, obviously for good reason, but if you could offer any kind of guidance, I’d appreciate it!

I’m currently using a Geekvape Legend with the stock Z tank, and I also have a good MTL Nautilus when I don’t want to drown everyone in vapor.

Hi.

Am I seeing correctly, is that Romania? There are quite a few available websites there, or even shops you can order from.

Forget about going into a shop like that here.

Sorry, I didn’t see at first glance how great the site is. Hungary is the target, and as much as it hurts to say it, I wouldn’t have a problem with this in Romania. :smiley:

I completely understand your headache, unfortunately, vaper life has been made quite difficult here recently. But don’t worry, not all is lost, you just need to be a bit more creative with sourcing.

Here’s a little guide on what’s going on lately:

1. Webshops and Ordering (To Hungary)

As you’ve noticed, many old big names (Liquidhall, JuicyVapour etc.) are no longer an option. Sites ending in “.store” and “.cc” are indeed quite erratic.

  • Foreign Options: Many order from larger EU sites like Sourcemore or HealthCabin (these are Chinese, but sometimes have EU warehouses), or from French/English sites.
  • Dangers: Since regulations are strict here, foreign orders are placed at your own risk. The tax authority (NAV) can seize the package and impose fines.
  • Within the EU: If you order from another EU country, there are no customs or VAT hassles, but shipping sometimes falters due to local regulations.

2. Base Liquid (PG/VG) and Flavor

Fortunately, PG and VG cannot be banned because they are used for a thousand other things. If you’re looking for a quality and pure source from within Hungary, I confidently recommend these:

  • Floravita: You can buy USP grade PG and VG in liter quantities at very friendly prices.
  • Flavors: On sites like Aroma49, Solubaroma or Flavorhook, you’ll find plenty of choices to spice up your unflavored base.

3. Bottles (Chubby Gorilla and similar)

The “thousands of forints” bottles are indeed highway robbery. Look around the aforementioned flavor webshops (e.g., Aroma49), they usually have empty bottles at more humane prices, but sometimes you can even buy simpler brown bottles with droppers at pharmacies if you don’t insist on the Chubby style.

4. Nicotine

This is the hardest part. Ordering nicotine from webshops to Hungary is currently illegal and risky.

  • Tobacconist: They can only stock 10 ml ready-made liquids (often with bad flavors or ratios).
  • Personal Purchase: If you have the opportunity, you can personally purchase nicotine boosters in neighboring countries (e.g., Slovakia, Romania) for personal use and bring them back. This is currently the safest route.

5. Mixing Help

If you start mixing at home, I recommend VapeDIY, Vaperina’s own developed calculator: VapeDIY. Here you can accurately calculate the ratios, so you don’t have to guess.

In summary: Don’t give up and don’t switch to IQOS if you’re looking for the vaping experience! :grinning: It requires a bit more research now, but the community is here and ready to help. If you get stuck with mixing or acquiring specific hardware, feel free to ask!

Just a small, friendly clarification at the end: we vapers prefer ‘plenty of vapor’ over ‘good smoking’, because that’s exactly the point – no burning, just nice fragrant vapor! :wink:

I ordered from Calumette in March, a Saturday order was sent out on Monday, it arrived at a package point near Budapest on Thursday. There was no problem with it, it was an order under 50 EUR. I just placed another one, this one is even smaller. Until the local courier takes over, I’m a bit nervous about it… :smiley:

Thank you very much! By the way, what happens if the NAV opens it? For example, if I don’t order nic salt, then they can get lost, right?
