So now... where can I get a good liter one?

Hello everyone!

I don’t follow the vape world at all, I’m glad I got a device with a built-in battery and some Aspire tank on it back in a sale. I can change the coils, I’m happy about that already.

So anyway, roughly every 9 months I buy 1 liter of 3mg and about 4x30ml of flavor for it.
This January, there was already some issue with the Slovak company, that they couldn’t deliver, but it came in handy that I had a job in Tata, so I popped into the shop for it during the day.
Now the liquid is starting to run out and I can’t reach any websites. Okay, I dug into it, got to Tor browser, and now I’ve found about 5% of the previous sites, I see the rest have completely disappeared.
I can’t find the previous Croatian site either, from where the cheap coils came and I also ordered 1L from there once.
I didn’t even know about this excise tax thing, now I feel like someone who hibernated themselves into another century in a lame sci-fi movie.

Is there any way to get liquid and aromas from somewhere now? I mean, in normal, liter or 2x500ml solutions? Or what has this changed into now? Should I just try calling the companies I find based on Google Maps? Last time I went to eliquidtrafik, now their website is down, but according to Google, there are still reviews from yesterday.

This boomer vaper, Tomi, thanks you for all the help.

P.S.: Am I guessing correctly that 1L of liquid and 4 aromas won’t be around 25k Ft anymore?

Hi.
A lot has changed, excise tax, shop closures, but if you buy pre-mixed nicotine liquid from somewhere, I think the authorities will surely shut it down. What you can still do is calculate what strength liquid you want, buy the ingredients separately, and then mix it yourself.
There, pretty much everyone handles things by thinking years ahead (because, ‘what if…’), so… what you can do right now is type what you want to know into the search bar here and read… I’m sure you’ll find what you’re looking for.

Hi. Unfortunately, you’re seeing it all right!

Currently, we’re out of stock.. currently, if you take the risk of ordering from abroad, it’s about 34-35 thousand Hungarian money for 1 liter base + booster + 4 aromas.

Okay, then there isn’t a base liquid as such. I discovered Gilbert, he supposedly solved most of it for me with some Hungarian webshop and by saying I have to go to a tobacco shop for the nicotine.
So, all the messing around resulted in me having to mix the base liquid myself too, otherwise, nothing has essentially changed. You can even buy flavorings.
What’s the price range for these nicotine bottles?

It’s 1600-1800 HUF nationally and you need 15 bottles… but the biggest problem is that it’s not really available in tobacco shops.

And as it’s becoming clear, there won’t really be one :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

Instead of ordering, can I go to Komárno to pick it up?

If I understand correctly, the situation is that there is no booster and there won’t be? Is it because of some regulation or just because of the prices?

Is there still a booster in Slovakia?

Is it known why there is no nicotine liquid? This was not clear to me from the long summary article. In theory, there could be many 20mg/10ml bottles in the stores.

I think there is so much distrust, fear, and lack of information surrounding the whole thing that they don’t dare to  they don’t deal with it.

It’s possible in Slovakia.. but as I wrote, it can also be ordered, it just comes with some risk.. which I personally don’t give a damn about… But for some, this isn’t an option.

Hi Tibor, do you happen to have any tips or a website where I can order from?

Hi! Sure, I’ll help you navigate this mess! :dashing_away:

I see Eszterka48 also asked exactly where to order from. So, let’s see what the situation is with sourcing!

First of all, as others have written, the situation is quite tricky here in Hungary, but there are a few legal sources where you can get the raw materials if you want to mix your own juice.

Base Liquids (PG/VG) and Flavors in Hungary :hungary:

Fortunately, you can legally buy base liquids (propylene glycol, vegetable glycerin) and flavors in Hungary too, as they don’t contain nicotine, so different rules apply to them.

You can look around here:

Nicotine Boosters in Hungary :no_smoking:

As Tibor wrote, you can only buy nicotine boosters at Nemzeti Dohányboltok (National Tobacco Shops). Unfortunately, the experience is that many places are out of stock, or the selection is very limited. Their price ranges from 1600-1800 Ft per 10 ml bottle.

Mixing and Calculation :test_tube:

If you mix your own, the VapeDIY calculator, created by the Vaperina team, can be very useful! With it, you can easily calculate how much base liquid, booster, and flavor you need for your desired strength and ratio of juice.

Sourcing from Abroad – What to Watch Out For? :warning:

Tamas_Suri, you asked a good question about Komárno!
Yes, if you have the opportunity, you can travel to a neighboring country (e.g., Slovakia) and personally purchase products for your own use there. This is currently one of the most practical and legal ways to obtain vaping supplies, especially if you live close to the border. There are still boosters available in Slovakia, yes.

Regarding ordering from foreign webshops:
Important Warning: Since Hungary is within the European Union, orders from EU countries are not subject to retroactive customs duties or VAT. However, local vaping regulations may restrict shipping independently of this.
Unfortunately, as Tibor mentioned, ordering from foreign webshops to Hungary can carry legal risks. Hungarian authorities can confiscate shipments and impose fines. So, if you decide to order from abroad, you do so entirely at your own risk!

You can find more information on the topic here:

Hi! I understand the situation, it’s quite chaotic with webshops and sourcing right now, but don’t worry, I’ll help however I can!

As Tibor wrote, and as you’re experiencing, the situation is that in Hungary, there are currently no public vape shops, and online ordering is also quite problematic. Vaperina has summarized the situation with webshops in a statement. This topic contains the latest information, updated on May 27, 2025.

What is the Situation with Base Liquids and Nicotine?

Yes, you’re right, you have to source and mix base liquids (PG/VG) and flavors yourself if you want to mix in Hungary. Fortunately, these can still be obtained, but nicotine boosters are another matter.

Nicotine Booster: As Tibor mentioned, nicotine boosters are theoretically available at Nemzeti Dohányboltok (National Tobacco Shops), but they are often out of stock. This situation has arisen due to the legal environment and uncertainty, and many shops are hesitant to deal with them.

Ordering from Abroad and Slovakia

Ordering from Abroad: Ordering from foreign webshops, even if from within the EU, can be risky. Although orders within the EU are not subject to customs or VAT, Hungarian authorities can confiscate shipments and impose fines. So, if you order from abroad, you do so entirely at your own risk.

Slovakia (Komárno): Yes, it absolutely works to go to Slovakia, for example, Komárno, and buy there! This is currently one of the most practical and legal ways to source supplies, especially if you live close to the border. There are still vape shops in Slovakia where you can get boosters and everything else.

If you’re looking for shops in Slovakia, it’s worth searching on Google, for example: Komárno vape shop or Slovakia e-cigarette store. Vaperina forums also discussed Slovak vape shops, but this topic is from February 22, 2024, so it’s worth checking current opening hours and stock.

Where Can You Get Raw Materials in Hungary?

If you want to source raw materials for mixing in Hungary, I can recommend the following places:

PG/VG (base liquids):

Flavors and Shake and Vape (flavor concentrates):

DIY Liquid Mixing

If you want to mix your own liquid, I highly recommend Vaperina’s own developed, free online tool, the VapeDIY calculator! With it, you can easily calculate the desired nicotine level, VG/PG ratio, and flavor percentage.

I hope this helps you navigate the current situation! If you have any more questions, just ask!
