We have always believed that accurate, science-based information and community cohesion should not depend on the algorithms or whims of a single large, centralized corporation. Vaperina’s goal from the beginning has been to provide a free, independent professional platform where facts matter and collective knowledge is safe.
We are delighted to announce that Vaperina’s next big step is decentralization!
What does this mean in practice? Soon, we will begin integrating with the Fediverse (ActivityPub). This is a significant technical milestone: in the future, Vaperina will not only operate independently but will become part of a global, open network capable of communicating directly with other decentralized platforms (such as Mastodon or other Fediverse-based services).
Why are we doing this?

An Alternative to Tech Giants: Vaperina is already a completely independent, self-standing platform. With Fediverse integration, however, we are building a bridge that allows users to directly and freely access the professional knowledge accumulated here, without the need for large, centralized social networks (and their unpredictable bans or algorithms).

Community Control: The Fediverse is a decentralized network where there is no central censorship, no profit-hungry tech companies, and no secret algorithms. It’s your choice what you read and what information you access.

Convenient Accessibility: In the future, you will even be able to follow Vaperina’s most important categories from your own Mastodon (or other Fediverse) account, and even interact with our posts without leaving your familiar environment.
What’s the next step? Technical implementation and background work have been ongoing for some time. We will soon begin live testing of the feature. Our goal is a seamless, stable integration that does not disrupt the usual experience at all, but opens the door to the world of free and censorship-free networks.
