Vaperina's future - The beginning of a new era

Hello everyone!

I don’t even know where to start… We have thought a lot about what the best solution might be, because we all see that the bubble surrounding us could burst at any moment. Our opportunities are narrowing around us. It feels like we are on a sinking ship… We all know the Hungarian situation and the direction it is heading. Of course, there are problems in most places, but not this big. This affects not only us but also endangers the future of the entire Community.

We are facing a choice, and we believe that if we can act, it will still be in time before this ship sinks completely. Do we wait until the situation becomes completely impossible, or do we take a huge step forward. We chose the latter…

6 years ago we saved the Hungarian vape community, and now we will do it again!

When we launched Vaperina, there were only a few dozen people here. By now, there are more than 25,000 members in the Community, which is amazing! We are very grateful to everyone who has contributed to the survival of the Hungarian vape community.

But now we must act again! I think I can speak for all of us when I say that for some time now we have felt that the circle is tightening, our opportunities are narrowing. We must respond to this, and not just respond, but act! We will do everything in our power to ensure this remains and that as many opportunities as possible open up for us. We will not let this be taken away from us. If necessary, we will do what it takes every year to survive. This whole thing might seem strong or exaggerated now, but we have every reason to assume we are not safe and must work to not feel that way.

We believe that one of the best ways to do this will be to establish new connections and, along with that, break down walls and discover a new world. This can give opportunity and hope for the future, for the coming years.

Therefore, Vaperina will soon be placed on the world map!

Vaperina will soon transform into a global vape platform that will provide us with every opportunity.

What does this mean in practice?

:globe_showing_europe_africa: Vaperina will soon be a global vape platform available in nearly 50 languages, where the range of our opportunities can expand enormously. Although we are moving in a global direction, we are not entering an alien world, but rather stepping into a space with greater opportunities where we can become stronger than ever before.

We are working hard to implement this at a level that ensures the smoothest possible transition and use.

:handshake: You do not need to speak a foreign language to communicate with users from other countries in the future. The interface will be provided by manual translation, and the content by automatic translation, so that everyone can communicate in their own language, thus facilitating continuous and smooth conversation among the Vapers of the world.

:loudspeaker: How will it work?
Example:

  • A French user sees everything in French, writes in French, which an Italian user will see in Italian.
  • A Hungarian user sees everything unchanged in Hungarian, but the same conversation will be seen by a Greek user in Greek.
  • If someone wants to speak in English or another language, they can easily switch the language of the page.

With this, we are truly breaking down borders and building a Community where everyone can participate with equal opportunities!
We know this is a big step and perhaps this whole thing seems unimaginable right now. But you know us, we are not afraid of challenges and we do not know the impossible; if we step onto this path, we will not only survive but become stronger than ever before!

We sincerely hope that, just as you support us, we will receive maximum support from you for this.
Whoever can, please support the continued operation of Vaperina and the survival of the Community; it is truly needed. :folded_hands:

Thank you! Together we move forward! :vaperina: :rocket:

This is not a small step… :slightly_smiling_face: I suppose it has been thought through that this could bring more advantages than trouble.

Well, good luck to any foreigner who wants to understand us…often even we ourselves don’t understand each other :joy: which leads to misunderstandings. Of course, the idea they planned is still good and has its advantages, we just need to keep in mind to express ourselves more clearly, without figurative meanings. Not to mention spelling and the use of accents.
Our brains work differently than those living in other parts of the world…that’s a fact.
So it would be good if the enjoyability doesn’t change because of this. Because if it does, it might become like other “multinational” sites (e.g., Reddit)

This is kind of like when we completely cut ties with Facebook back in the day. Most people thought we were crazy. We thought it through, we have a plan, and we are constantly working on it. It can only bring advantages and lots of opportunities, and as I wrote above, the situation is getting worse, so action must be taken. We usually act ahead of everyone else because we recognize when it’s necessary in time. There won’t be any problem with this step and this execution. :slightly_smiling_face:

It won’t be a problem :slightly_smiling_face:

I would have supported breaking away from FB back then too…but I didn’t know they existed yet :slightly_smiling_face:

However, if this can bring an added benefit to the financing of the operation, then it seems like a logical enough step to unleash the AI translation algorithm onto the site.
Because the structure of the site itself is brilliant!!!…I would definitely copy it if I were thinking about creating a forum with a completely different theme :slightly_smiling_face:

When, for example, we send a quarrelsome Finn to warmer climes  will they correctly understand our true intention?

I think the misunderstanding will start right there, when for example a Frenchman writes something like, “I went into the corner vape shop, tasted through 10 flavors, I liked this and that, and I bought some of them, you guys should try them too,” we Hungarians won’t know what to make of that: tasting, abundant selection, what the heck?.. :joy:

Or we write about the shady tobacco shop, or where/how one can still cleverly order from abroad, because for example, the vape selection in a county seat’s shady shop is limited to a few starter hardware kits and a few Vivo flavors, and they won’t understand what the heck that is either?..

There isn’t even a vape shop in a county seat anymore, which could potentially affect Debrecen as well.
Globally, I hardly see shops shared on any foreign sites similar to Vaperina; only privately.

I also read foreign websites, of course using a translator because I am uninformed, but I understand them this way too.
I have learned and seen many smart things from them too.

I feel the same way about it, but I don’t understand it 100%, and I don’t think I would succeed in commenting meaningfully so that they would understand.

That’s not what I meant.
I was just trying to express “more humorously” that such a degree of restriction (excuse me, protection of minors… which obviously “works perfectly”…), combined with such trash selection in official stores (tobacco racket), I think only we have this in the entire EU. And it will be strange for, say, a Frenchman to understand this situation at first if they read Hungarian forums.

I don’t know what LLM Vaperina uses, but I guess it can be fine-tuned to translate the text contextually rather than literally. Or for example, if a small flag were placed next to the users’ names, it would be clearer who is who and what the count is, as the English would say with this “two birds with one stone” :slightly_smiling_face:

I am a late bloomer, so unfortunately I couldn’t be there at the birth of :vaperina:, but I am glad that I am here now and can see how step by step you have been trying to expand the restrictions forced around vaping for years now. Great respect for that! :hugs:

I am not an experienced online chatter either, maybe it has become apparent already, and what has kept me here the most, besides the informal articles, is the helpful and friendly community, the supportive and cheerful atmosphere that characterizes the site. The kind people(!) and not some unknown algorithm. I know this is a unique treasure in this virtual space, this is the most important thing for me, and I still trust in its sustainability. :crossed_fingers:

Language barriers don’t worry me, although my “foreign language skills” are terribly weak, but wherever I go, my experience is that achieving a common goal between two normal people has always easily left every problem behind me, and modern technology can be a great help today. :flying_saucer:

What is one like this? I hope it turns out! I quit smoking exactly the same way. :skull: vs. :innocent: May the vapor stay with Us! :+1:

I’m not against it either; sometimes I don’t even understand poor @Robertino_daf, even though he is Hungarian. Ultimately, the matter is tested, as I manage to discuss things with Robi too. I would be curious what he says!?

Hello Donát! :slightly_smiling_face: Hello everyone!

The goal is extraordinary, I know you can do it! :hugs: Hats off!
Unfortunately, what immediately flashed into my mind is that those people who made countless web shops impossible due to their own selfish interests, with cross-border regulations, are trying to exclude this platform from the global sphere as well. They have the means for this, unfortunately we know. I hope it won’t be like this.
Achieve your goal Donát! I support you in this! :hugs:
