As we previously mentioned in the topic about Vaperina’s future, we have embarked on the path of globalization. As part of this, we share an important step with you.
Our goal is that our Community will never be subject to unexpected political or economic changes. Vaperina cannot cease to exist, and we are now ensuring this with a big step:
Vaperina’s servers are moving to the United Kingdom.
The United Kingdom is one of the most vape-friendly countries in the world, where e-cigarettes are recognized as a smoking cessation device. They are recommended as an alternative, and since they are less dependent on EU regulations since Brexit, this can mean greater freedom and security for us as well. (It is true that things are also starting to tighten up there now, but the British government’s official stance remains that vaping is a device to help quit smoking.) If regulations were to become stricter here in areas that might affect us more, Vaperina could still operate more easily.
What about data protection?
The United Kingdom applies data protection rules similar to GDPR (UK GDPR), and we will continue to comply with the EU GDPR regulations, so there will be no change for you in terms of data management.
We will update our privacy policy to reflect the new server location and compliance procedures.
Technical upgrade: new server
Since we are moving, we are also upgrading! We are currently awaiting new AMD EPYC servers, which represent more modern technology and better performance, thus ensuring faster and more reliable operation than our current ones.
The migration will happen gradually, in several stages.
