This unfortunate incident happened this morning. In the morning, I was still using the Aegis Solo 3, then the battery drained completely without me noticing. I immediately put it on to charge with the included cable, then I noticed that even after almost an hour of charging, it was still showing 0%. I found it a bit strange, but I didn’t suspect anything yet. I went about my business, and after a while, I noticed that it wasn’t charging at all, no matter what I did.
Fortunately, I ordered it from a local distributor, so I immediately reported the issue to them, but I’m sure I’ll get a response – completely understandably – only after Easter.
In the meantime, if anyone has any ideas for this, please don’t keep it to yourself.
Hi! The first and most important thing is to get an external charger. Until you have one, maybe try with another USB cable to see if it charges with that.
I don’t know about it and I’m just brainstorming. If the battery drains to 0% from one hour to the next, then either the battery is dead, or something is seriously draining it constantly. I had two batteries sitting in the closet for years, and they were put in used, but they weren’t discharged when I took them out. More thorough troubleshooting is likely needed. First, I suggest replacing the cable and charger. An external charger is highly recommended. Charging in the mod is only recommended in extreme emergencies. But, as I said, 0% is highly suspicious.
I know what the problem is: mass production, innovation, modern consumer society , Comrade Ping and Pong weren’t paying attention. Sadly, such things can happen . This is in case the cable and charger are not to blame (Max current intensity 2A with which these can handle charging). Not the best soldering material or too little was applied at the given point and it came loose from the heat.
Sorry. My colleague has a Solo, and it has a replaceable battery. I didn’t know there were two versions. To my defense, the questioner didn’t say what kind of battery it has
Don’t confuse me @Paska wrote that there’s one with a built-in battery too. I mean, it doesn’t change the main point. Either the battery is shot, or something is seriously draining it until it’s completely dead.
I’ve tried everything since then, so it’s very likely I’ve encountered a faulty unit. The one piece of luck I have is that I ordered from a local distributor who even has a showroom, so hopefully, I can resolve the issue under warranty. If I’m not lucky with that either, I’ll reorder a basic mod because the tank works perfectly.
