Hi! How can I order these if they only deliver to an address? If I write in the notes that it’s a parcel locker or a pick-up point, will they send it there?

There is no parcel pick-up point option, only home delivery. However, in many cases, the postal service does not deliver the package; they just send an SMS that the shipment can be picked up at the nearest post office.

If you’re thinking of HC and SM, then you don’t have the option to request delivery to a parcel locker there. Magyar Posta (Hungarian Post) delivers it… for example, for us in Pest, the package always stays at the post office… so the SMS arrives and I have to go pick it up.

The thing is, those “3” seized packages had an effect, and no one even got a penalty for them… This could work on the 50mg line too..
These are devices.. not excise products, so if they seize them (which I think has a 0.001 chance), at most they’ll confiscate them and you can order again..

Tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of packages arrive in Hungary daily from other EU countries (e.g., Germany, Poland). Precise daily statistics are not publicly disclosed by the National Tax and Customs Administration (NAV) or Magyar Posta broken down weekly or daily, but a monthly shipment count in the millions is definitely there.
What about EU shipments?
- Packages ordered from EU countries are not subject to customs duties or VAT in Hungary.
- There are no exceptions to this, so if you order a vape from Germany, Poland, or another EU member state, they cannot stop it for customs or VAT reasons.
Regulatory risk – why could it still be a problem?
- Legal restrictions
- Hungary has strict regulations on nicotine e-cigarettes, but based on customs and VAT law, shipments from the EU cannot be regulated from a customs perspective.
- Oversight by other authorities (e.g., National Public Health Center, police) is theoretically possible but extremely rare for such private EU orders.
- What happens in practice?
- If you order from within the EU, the NAV will not screen the package.
- In rare cases, the postal service or courier company may request age verification, but there are no official interceptions.
Example calculation
Let’s assume:
- There are 100,000 packages arriving from the EU in Hungary daily.
- Of these, let’s say 1,000 might be nicotine devices – this could even be an underestimation.
- If none are intercepted, the practical interception rate = 0%.
- If there were theoretically 1 interception in a year, that would be a 0.0001% interception rate – meaning a probability below 99.9999% of your package being caught.
Probability that your vape order from the EU will be intercepted: practically zero.
Even if there were a change in legislation or increased checks – which hasn’t happened yet – the risk is far below 1%, likely around 0.001% (that’s 1 in 100,000).
In summary

Conclusion:
Although nothing is guaranteed, the chance of official seizure is practically zero if you order your vape from within the EU. 
However, and I must always emphasize this because it is the official stance and regulation: even if you order from within the EU, Hungarian laws may still restrict the import of vape products. Therefore, there is always a risk that Hungarian authorities (even under a different legal basis than customs) may seize the package and impose fines.
So, no matter how low the risk seems based on the calculations, and while it’s true that such incidents are rare in practice, it is definitely your responsibility if you order from abroad. Always keep in mind that local laws must be obeyed, and you are responsible for any potential legal consequences.
