I very rarely take it apart completely.
I think it’s unnecessary.
Pull out the cotton.
Over a clogged sink, I shake it downwards until the 4 wires start coming out.
I pull these out, then running hot water washes everything.
I wait until it dries, then it can be reassembled.
The coil will be fine.
After washing, I burn it off, and that’s it.
I’ve had the stubby since April 20th, maybe I’ve taken it apart once.
Hot water, the same way.

Clean the bottom screws once a year… contact spray, that’s it. As for the rest, it’s on the deck, barrel, cap, driptip level.
