I like it, but I’m quite full right now ![]()
What will happen in
Well, I was at the house ![]()
This is the house that comes up if you type “Home Alone 2 house Manhattan” into Google Image Search…
Was there a brick on the roof?
Perhaps an iron!?

Or a huge toolbox. ![]()
Revolut and MBH
MBH is a joke, the app itself too. Topping up Revolut was never a problem. Now MBH has made a change. They sent everyone a new card. Since then, I wanted to top up Revolut with it for the first time. Declined, Declined, then again. Hmmm. I try to add the card to Apple Pay, it doesn’t work, call the bank. I called the bank. Of course, in the meantime, an SMS came saying they had debited the money, only it didn’t arrive on Revolut.
MBH customer service… oh, there’s maintenance now, card digitalization won’t work for a week. Uh-huh, that’s great, and did they send out any information about that?![]()
I say okay, forget it, but where is the money they debited? They don’t know, they will call back.
Breaking point![]()

When they made the bank account mandatory for me, the company handled it. OTP, of course, a long time ago before modern billing systems. I hated banks instinctively. Just like Budapest Bank, MKB, Postabank, etc.. Only Raiffeisen and K&H are options for me. Don’t ask me why. For example, I’ve been with Raiffeisen for 12 years and have no problems with them. Well, except with the bank clerks, who chatted with the customer for so long that my parking expired. Then I took care of everything on the phone in 5 minutes, completely. ![]()
Hi!
I’m sorry they messed you around like this.
That’s really rough!!!
My partner and I had our registered address removed from the monthly bank statement for two years. So we went to a different branch three times to have it corrected. Each time they photocopied our documents, but it didn’t work even three times. We went in person to the local MBH branch. We explained what the problem was. The answer we got was that MBH doesn’t send bank statements via email. I showed the customer service representative the monthly emails with the statements in PDF format. He just stared like a sheep. Then he asked me to open one. He looked at some numbers from it and kept typing on the computer. Then he said he couldn’t solve it. He needed help from the head office in Pest. Oh, and he asked us to tell him which system we were in within the bank? Luckily, I remembered it was Budapest Bank, so he searched for us there. ![]()
Two weeks later, we received a letter from Pest saying they had changed it. Hurray!! A ridiculous, cobbled-together joke of a bank. Unfortunately, we ended up here because of a housing loan, but it was a mistake…
I hope your problem gets resolved soon.![]()
They called me back.
After 10 minutes, they informed me that my transaction encountered a technical error, they see it and are working on it.
If it’s not resolved by tomorrow, I should call them again.
As soon as I’m free from the loan I have with them, I will forget them.
The whole bank is a joke.
We feel the same way. As soon as we pay it back, bye bye. Back then, I definitely wanted to go with Unicredit, but it was a bit cheaper here. True, it might not have been better there either. Who knows, but this is a disaster.
I remember way back when… perhaps it was FHB, or maybe its predecessor when I first became a customer. It’s gotten progressively worse since the big merger. In the beginning, there were no problems with them at all.
Stay away from Unicredit, and OTP if you can ![]()
The former refused to transfer my daughter’s and my inheritance, citing that their system - brace yourself - cannot pay the exact half-and-half amount because one part comes out a few cents more. My nerves weren’t exactly in a state to argue at the time… After that, they paid it out in cash, which had an outrageous cost. I thanked them for their exhaustive help and will dissuade anyone I can from using them.
Regarding the same inheritance, OTP has been unable to transfer the housing savings account to my name for two years… So I can’t even withdraw it. I’m not kidding, I’ve been there about 24 times so far… It hasn’t been resolved.
+info, if God forbid - and may He not - you inherit and there’s also an amount on a Szép card, then if you have a Szép card, they will only transfer it to that, not to a regular bank account…
I agree! OTP should also be avoided from afar!
I just wonder what’s left![]()
The pillow?
Neither is better than the other
Long ago, as soon as my home loan expired, I went to OTP Bank. I paid everything off to the last cent and said, “I want to terminate it NOW!”
“Don’t terminate it, because I’m such a good customer, they’ll give me such a good loan…”
Now they’re cutting up my card while I’m still speaking nicely ![]()
It was terminated ![]()
Honestly, I don’t know. Revolut is still the best solution currently, I’m trying to switch to it, but they’re also preparing to mess with it…
I have everything with OTP, because back then, when they came up with the idea that you wouldn’t get your salary in cash, first it was the Postabank chequebook hassle, then they switched to OTP, and I still haven’t felt like changing the 234 things that are tied to that account. I’m not the “administrative type,” unfortunately they can quickly get on my nerves.
I’m also pro-Revo, but unfortunately it’s not usable on its own… To each their own, I currently have no problem with MBH.. the app is still working right now ![]()
Yes, I thought about Revolut too, I’m just afraid that the domestic players are trying to ruin it…
A good example is OTP. With the Revolut card, even with the basic package, cash withdrawal is free up to 75 thousand per month. Well, OTP figured out that if all else fails, they will charge a fee for cash withdrawals made with a card issued by a foreign bank. I’d say it’s clever, but something else comes to mind ![]()

That’s what comes to my mind too… Always, when I see or hear
I have a similar problem, I’m still stuck with OTP, even though they’ve screwed me over many times… but I don’t know what would be the best right now, that would also last for a few years…
If they shut down Revo and Wise too, then I’ll just move it abroad, to Austria or Croatia, Slovenia. I have to look around to see where you’re better off.
