Hi everyone! Has anyone ever had a package sent back to a French sender labeled as prohibited? It contained 1 aroma, 1 box of coils, and 10x10ml nicotine boosters. I’m not really worried about having likely lost the package and the 40 euros, but rather whether I’m heading straight to jail.

Why would you go? They turned the package around, they didn’t seize it. Logically: they sent back the “evidence” based on which they could penalize you.

Obviously, prison feels like an exaggeration, I just suddenly panicked because this has never happened with any of my orders before. I thought I’d ask around in case someone has experienced something like this and could tell me how it ended. I hope it just stops at this. Package returned and that’s it.

At least you know what happened to it… Last year, a 120 euro package of ours was simply swiped in Germany at the courier company’s logistics center. And there wasn’t even any nicotine booster in it, just flavor concentrates… The courier company points to the sender, the sender to the courier company. Only the package has been nowhere to be found since then, and our money is tied up in it. You got off cheaper, this has unfortunately become that kind of hobby now, you have to factor in the risk.

I feel like your shared experience is a bit incomplete. Generally, the following possibilities arise when a package is not delivered:
- Incorrect addressing, incomplete address - returned to sender
- Damaged package - returned to sender
And then, of course, there’s the 1 in 1000 chance that you were the unlucky one whose package was seized, but I assume the webshop will compensate you. Send an email to customer service stating that the package was returned for some reason and ask them to ship it out again.
There’s no need to immediately think of the worst-case scenario and incite fear in others with your post that you could end up “in prison.”

I see the problem with the 10x10.
So far, every package sent from Western EU has arrived without issues.
Though, those were without the 10x10.
There have been returned packages, but not from there. There have also been quite a few that were opened and resealed (almost all of them).
Anyway, there is “overcrowding” in prison. No need to panic, in the worst-case scenario, it could (theoretically) just be a fine, IMO.

Of course, my intention was not to scare anyone; I was the one who got scared by the parcel status update. If it were due to damage or an incomplete address, I assume they would state that next to the status, instead of this:

What do you see in the DPD system?
Am I right to assume that you are currently seeing the package status in the Chronopost system? Next to the XT…TS tracking number, there is also a number sequence, which is the DPD parcel number. Please take a look there and see what it shows for the package status.

If the site is legitimate, they will likely refund your money, at most deducting the shipping costs they covered (at least I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it will be the case). It is more than likely that there was a packaging or labeling error which caused it to be sent back, so there’s no need to stress about it. If, God forbid, the package was urgent, I can help you out with a little nicotine and aroma if that’s what you need, until the next shipment arrives if you reorder it.

This says it all: your package was subject to a random check and was opened for inspection, and unfortunately, it wasn’t a vaper who opened your package they spotted the nicotine and returned it to the sender. In the best-case scenario, that’s all that happened; in the worst, there’s a fine. Let’s hope for the best.

Thank you, that’s very kind I’ll make do with what I have for a while longer, but it seems I need to change tactics again, because my body isn’t keen on this anxiety in the long run. In most cases, it arrived from the French without any issues, though there was one instance where a package got stuck at DPD for 3 weeks; they were pushing it back and forth, and I spoke to customer service 4 times. That package was difficult to get. As for this one, we’ll see what happens.

Hi! I was just wondering if there are any new updates on the matter?
I have seen cases before where the wrong status code was accidentally added to tracking. What I find strange is that it passed through Budapest without issues, and it says ‘prohibited shipment’ at Gyöngyös. If customs officials open it, that should normally happen in Budapest (or Budaörs), though I might be wrong.

Hi! I wrote to the webshop today; until now, I had only been monitoring the Chronopost tracking system to see where it was going and what notes were attached. It returned to the shop today, so I contacted them. They claim the package was damaged; I can’t imagine what circumstances could cause a few bottles to be damaged like that… it still isn’t clear why the label “prohibited” was added, which is a bit misleading, as the DPD status also mentioned damage, and the webshop cited that today as well. It would be good to know if the whole thing was opened and damaged because of the nicotine content… or if a truck just ran over it… Anyway, the shop issued a gift voucher equivalent to the order amount and waived the shipping fee. I just don’t know now whether to reorder it exactly as it was… because I really need those nic shots…

I think you’re overthinking it a bit because of the nic; it’s a damaged package, so either they played soccer with it or a forklift backed over it, etc., or in a worst-case scenario, maybe a curious magpie was picking at it. I’m not surprised by the damage, though; once, a guy was literally kicking boxes around in his van right in front of me while looking for mine, they were just banging against the side wall. God knows what goes on at the depot…
If customs officials were opening it, you’d know about it—for example, by the customs inspection tape or by receiving an official notification—but I don’t think you’d see a ‘damaged package’ status.

Hi everyone,
During that same period, specifically between 08/11 and 08/14, my order also arrived via this same Chronopost-DPD route. Up until now—knock on wood—I haven’t had any issues with it. However, in this latest case, upon taking the package out of the parcel locker, I was met with the sad sight of a badly damaged box. My first thought was that the DPD courier had crushed it, but then it occurred to me that this could have happened earlier during transit. My second thought was that I hoped nothing had fallen out, because there were holes in it large enough that a few small items could easily have slipped out.
Like yours, mine also contained delicate 10ml bottles, flavor concentrates, a drip tip, etc.
Once I got home, I opened it up immediately and was happy to confirm that nothing was missing, which is a miracle considering the state of the box. I don’t know what could have happened to it, but it looked as if a bunch of large, heavy packages had been piled onto this small one.
I slept on it for a few days and decided not to file a complaint anywhere, because in the end, everything arrived complete.
I hope this was just an isolated incident/shipment because, as I mentioned, nothing like this had happened on this route before, and I hope it won’t happen again.

07.15 I had the same experience, even the product boxes were crushed, but since the contents were undamaged, I didn’t complain either

That package really got hit hard; Temu packages usually don’t look like this, and they don’t skimp on the packaging. My last order from 06.30 was completely intact, fortunately, and hadn’t been opened. I would’ve been pulling my hair out if they had opened it—it had 30x10ml of nicotine inside.
