Has anyone else experienced this kind of irritation?

Well, for example, I don’t even live by aromas.

I was only seriously ill from Solub… :joy:

I also have hay fever. Symptoms: itchy throat, runny nose, sneezing like crazy.

For a while, I was doing perfectly fine with 50/50 VG/PG liquid. Then I don’t know, maybe my body got saturated, suddenly I started sneezing after vaping.

At that point, I switched to 100% VG, with PG-vitamin and PG-based flavorings in it. It comes out to 90/10 - 85/15 VG/PG. This way, it doesn’t cause problems. Of course, it should be noted that my tank is mesh DL, it doesn’t cause it any issues.

Besides that, liquids without cooling agents dry my throat a lot, and after a few minutes of vaping, it feels like I’ve swallowed cotton.

Since then, I almost exclusively vape cooling fruity liquids.

It’s important to know that cooling agents are not necessarily menthol. Menthol has a strange, bad aftertaste for me. I add A&L Fresh additive to non-cooling liquids, so it’s completely fine for me.

My allergies are very seasonal; sometimes during summer bloom, 2 days of medication are enough, other times I suffered from it all summer. Since I started vaping, morning runny nose is much less present, I don’t sneeze, not even one or two.

My suspicion is that if it were a general PG irritation, it wouldn’t occur with specific liquids, especially not with such intensity. With caramel and now raspberry, the scenario was very similar: the first day, almost nothing; the next morning, not the best, but nothing noticeable. After 48 hours of vaping, BAM, on the third morning, I have to convince myself I’m not sick. The caramel mostly irritated and scratched at the nose-throat junction, while the raspberry is felt more in my throat and voice. Both had a very similar dulled taste later, as if only the scratching remained instead of the flavor.

Initially, I suspected PG and excessively high W, but in both cases, it didn’t matter how much I lowered them (15-12W), it was bad anyway.

And very little of these was “enough,” whereas, for example, I could easily vape the melon or peach Pulpot, but the caramel ruined me in one or two days; I already thought I had sinusitis.

I can only identify damascenone, the previously mentioned aroma component, as something definitely present in both (Liquideo Framboyz wrote it on the back). It’s quite possible I’m sensitive to something that neither liquid indicates. However, after some research, I found that it’s most common in berry fruits, caramel, dairy, dessert, vanilla, and drink flavors. For now, I’ll try to avoid these and not switch flavors too quickly. It’s definitely suspicious that I don’t react to it on the same day, but it always hits me the next morning.

I haven’t delved that deep into its chemistry, but it’s great that you were able to figure it out like this.

Are these aromas or short/longfills, by the way? That might matter too. Who knows what they mix into a shortfill to make it tastier.

edit.: sorry, I read through the topic, I got the answer. I also recommend homemade liquids. Zsolt’s flavorless “technique” can also rule out a lot, e.g. if it works, and your problem doesn’t reappear, then it’s almost certain that there was something in those liquids that your body didn’t like.

The taste isn’t great, but it’s not terrible either, it’s livable, and in my opinion, a much better alternative than an analog cigarette.

Maybe you could mention where you are, there’s a big crowd, maybe someone can help you with something

Oh, and yes, one more piece of advice, get acquainted with the world of RTAs. For the price of one atomizer, you get half a year’s supply of wire and cotton. But it’s not necessarily about the price, but rather so you don’t have the problem of “where do I suddenly get an atomizer because I need one”.

I cannot report on such a thing. I sometimes tend to hiccup. In theory, nicotine or perhaps even PG could cause it, though it doesn’t happen on a daily/weekly basis, it does occur sometimes (I inherited it from my mom that I ‘like’ to hiccup; dry food also causes it, but with her, for instance, cold fizzy drinks also trigger it  ).

I last had Tubi60… But Solub surely hits hard too :joy:

Yesterday I set it up, DC will mix pistachio, will get PG-VG from Flora, and also get a booster, and we hope there won’t be any problems with that.

The current Innokin Kroma-Z set is completely fine for experimenting. Then we’ll spice things up on the RTA line later on. For now, let the existing problem be resolved.

Super

But I think a fruity one should also be added next to Don Carlo, after all, that’s what was used until now. If the raspberry was a sure thing, I would try the A&L Shinobi Green. (Although I think Sweet is tastier, but this way the sweetener can be excluded from the formula)

I guess they will order fruity ones too. I recommended clean, simple, refreshing, and unsweetened flavors to them in terms of fruit. They definitely won’t have raspberry; that was one of the things that triggered the symptoms.
