In July 2025, Vaperina’s minimally supported iOS version will be updated from 15.7 to 16.7. After this, users running older iOS versions or older browsers will only be able to view content in a basic HTML version and will not be able to log in or interact with the site.
Devices limited to iOS 15 include the iPhone 6s, the first-generation iPhone SE, the iPhone 7, and the iPad Mini 4. These were released by Apple over 9 years ago and no longer receive updates (iosref.com). Unfortunately, it will not be possible to use Vaperina with these devices in the future.
For newer devices, iOS must be updated to version 16.7 or higher.
This change will also affect older versions of other browsers. For Firefox, the minimum required version supporting these features will be version 128 (July 2024), while for Chrome(ium), it will be version 119 (October 2023).
Starting today, a warning banner will appear for affected users, which also includes a link to this topic.
From a technical perspective, dropping support for outdated iOS versions allows us to utilize modern web technologies such as relative color syntax, subgrid, and lookbehind regex, all of which contribute to improving Vaperina’s user experience.
