Disposable vape... penalty?

Hi everyone!

I would like to ask you if I order a disposable vape from abroad and the Hungarian Tax and Customs Administration (NAV) might seize it, can I expect any kind of penalty?
Or will they just confiscate it and that’s it.
As far as I know, the import of such devices is no longer permitted, even if it doesn’t contain nicotine (mine would be like that too).

I hope someone can answer, I would greatly appreciate it.

Peace!

Hi :waving_hand:
In Hungary, the import, sale, and possession of disposable e-cigarettes are also illegal.
If the package is intercepted, they will confiscate it and may impose a fine.

Hi!,

Thanks for the info!

By the way, do you happen to know how much the fine might be?

I’d think about whether it’s worth the risk..

In my opinion, it’s quite an arbitrary rule; if they feel like it, they can impose a significant sum on you. For 1-2 items, of course, it’s unlikely, but it’s definitely not worth it, not just the money, but the procedure itself is also uncertain…

You should try it, if it’s worth it for you anyway…

Welcome to the N.A.V. website, how can we help

Well, that’s why I’m asking… Let’s say if it’s not a big blow, it’s worth a try. If the amount is large, then no.

I think everyone feels the same way about this.

And if it were just a full tank, would that also fall under the regulation?

Hi! I think you’ve landed in the wrong community. This isn’t the kind of place where ‘disposable’ is an option.

I have one too, it’s not disposable.

That’s why I asked

It could be an option.
Try buying it locally, I see little success for it.
But there’s still abroad where it might be available and you might get caught.
You could lose the product and your money, plus a penalty…
Can Ukrainian stamped cigarettes be sold domestically? No :man_shrugging:
The government has no revenue from it, so in their opinion it’s NOT LEGAL :man_shrugging:
I hereby consider this closed

If you want to experiment this much about whether there will be a penalty or not, then it’s simpler to search on Facebook for a group where people trade such things among themselves. There’s also a 50-50% chance there of what will happen to your money. It depends on what kind of day Lakatos Szándokán, who has no profile picture, is having.

On the National Tax and Customs Administration’s (NAV) website are illegal disposable devices with photos and names. These are devices that do not comply with TPD regulations.

It is illegal in Hungary to distribute and purchase any disposable device, BUT it is not illegal to possess a disposable one that can be legally acquired in another EU country (complies with TPD). A statement was also issued about this after the “Elfbar user” police officer was caught.

So, for the colleague who started the topic, the answer remains that the NAV (National Tax and Customs Administration) will load them up like a bale wagon if they order and get caught. The car-Esztergom-bridge-Párkány-any shop combination remains…

Besides what has been said below, it is recommended to read this too, just so you know why it is not recommended to deal with disposable gadgets like these, not only here but not in general either…
