Dead Rabbit Solo RTA flavor and wicking questions

Hello!

I got a Dead Rabbit Solo RTA, and I quickly put it together. It’s spitting a little liquid, but I guess the cotton is a bit loose. This isn’t such a big problem, but flavor-wise, it doesn’t even come close to my Z Sub Ohm tank. What could be the problem? I assembled it from the parts shown in the picture; its resistance is 0.23 ohms.

Hi! Maybe re-wrap the coil around a 2.5mm rod… this way the airflow will circulate better around it… That’s all I can think of right now… or a picture of the coil + wicking might help find a solution..

Hi! I am not a DL user, but I see that it definitely needs more wick. And one more question, at how many Watts do you use it?

I tried it at 70, but it already tasted a bit burnt .

It’s worth trying around 35-40 Watts, after that you can gradually increase it until you find the most suitable temperature and flavor for you. As far as I remember, Cotton Bacon cotton provides the proper flavor after vaporizing a tank of liquid. That’s at least how much it needs to break in.

I started around 40, at least that was good. :joy: Now I’ve rerolled it, I tried to put a bit more into it. And I’m waiting for 1 tankful

I found a review from dear @Vaperina_Kinga, this is also worth reading, maybe it will bring you closer to the solution. HellVape Dead Rabbit Solo RTA élménybeszámoló

I read, which is why I was encouraged to get it, and of course because I found it at a good price here on vaperina. I will probably get cotton clouds, bp mods, and canna cotton wicks.

Everything will be alright. Try reducing the wraps to 2.5. I think it will improve with it… From what I’m reading. Our @Vaperina_Kinga also wrapped 2.5 wraps into it.

This is a journey you are at the beginning of. I am sure you won’t regret diving into building…

I’m currently acquiring equipment, so for now I’m just ‘making do with what I have’. :joy: Thanks for the encouragement

A drill bit… A pop rivet… a thin screwdriver… many things can be a tool.

Hello! :hugs: I think the only issue will be with the wick. The quality of Cotton Bacon is not the same as it used to be. Of course, wait for it to break in, maybe it will be fine, but for DL, I think BP Mods performs better.

That’s why we wrote to him/her that Vapefly Cotton Clouds is recommended for MTL…of course, if they don’t listen to us

Of course I’m listening! A few of each are already on their way!

But he bought a DL tank. However, Cotton Clouds is good in that too. (You just need to cut it longer, because otherwise it’s too loose.)

yeah, okay…I was fiddling with Gizike on the steam engine
Anyway, I tested the cotton clouds wadding up to 45W…it’s definitely okay up to then

Did you perhaps not find a recommendation from the manufacturer regarding the ideal core size?

For example, I have a very similar tank for which Hellvape specifies between 3-4 mm.

I looked at yours too, but I couldn’t find it… although this surely influences the flavors too…

Here is an “official” short video about the build.

ed.: it resembles the Fat Rabbit, which simply requires a 3mm diameter coil
