Hello everyone :waving_hand:
On Vaperina, users can upload images, we have replaced the previous lightbox solution, Magnific Popup, with a newer, more modern solution.

:bullseye: Why was the switch necessary?

  • Modernization: Magnific Popup was great, but since its release in 2014, web requirements and browser compatibility have evolved significantly.
  • Better performance: By abandoning outdated code, the goal is a faster, more reliable, more compatible, and aesthetically nicer lightbox experience.
  • Improving User Experience: A solution better suited to today’s expectations was needed.

:framed_picture: Key new features and functions in the new lightbox

Feature Desktop (PC) Mobile Device
Navigation Arrows or \\rightarrow (next), \\leftarrow (previous) keyboard shortcuts. Swipe left/right between images.
Zoom In / Zoom Out \\text{Z} button, clicking the zoom button, or clicking the image (if zoomable). Double tap or pinch gestures.
Image Caption The image description is located below the image, focus is on the image. The image description is located below the image.
Closing \\text{Esc} button, close button, or clicking outside the image. Swipe down or up gesture, pinch gesture, or tapping outside the image.

New feature in the lightbox! :tada:

The new “Quote Image” button in the lightbox (marked by the icon) allows you to easily insert the image quote into the editor.

E.g.: If you want to ask about something in one of the images in a gallery. By quoting the image, you can easily highlight the specific image from the gallery you are interested in…
