Thanks, I’ve already looked it up in the meantime, but it’s not of great significance because we don’t have anything like that here, and I won’t be buying half a meter of it anyway.

No, it was only in it for 10 minutes, but I don’t think there would be much rubber in it. It definitely doesn’t harm electronics, and it doesn’t usually hurt plastics either.
I checked now and it didn’t help. It still shows a short circuit. I have a Dremel, now I’ll take it apart just because

You’re writing this correctly, which is why we never soaked these. For tape recorder and VCR pressure rollers, dry sanding helped more, but replacement was the correct solution. 
Soaked in a 40-70 percent solution of Isopropyl alcohol, if you have one, you can also put such things in an ultrasonic cleaner for a few minutes. Triple effectiveness. (For what is worth cleaning or saving…)
