We’ve reached another important milestone under the hood. In longer, more active threads, it’s sometimes difficult to follow who replied to whom and exactly which thought.
We’re changing that now! The Nested Replies (Threading) feature is being introduced.
Direct replies: If you click the Reply button on a specific post, you won’t get a simple new post at the end of the topic, but your reply will appear directly below the selected post, indented slightly (nested).
More followable threads: This way, multiple separate conversations can run side-by-side within a topic without descending into chaos.
Let’s test it (Here and now)
Since this is a completely new feature, I’d like us to break in the engine together in this topic before we unleash it live on Vaperina.
The task is simple:
Don’t just reply to the main topic!
Click on each other’s posts, test the depth of the threads, see how the tree structure appears.
Write your experiences here, or how much you like the new layout!
Note: It will surely feel strange at first, but after a while, you might like it much more. If you see any bugs, please report them!
Thanks Yes, this is the goal, we hope it brings the expected result, but we are aware that after so much time, the transition can be difficult. This is why for now, this topic is only in this form. Here we can test and get a little used to this as well. Then we’ll see what the opinion will be…
This topic is for us to test, try out, and get used to the new layout. And of course, for you to share your feedback. Let’s get the conversation going so we can test as many scenarios as possible.
If switching from cigarettes to vape went well, this will go well too.
All jokes aside – and just for testing purposes – it’s good that conversations don’t get stuck or fragmented, you don’t have to click back to see who replied to what or what the previous joke was. Personally, I easily got used to the system, but this seems to organize conversations on different topics. I like it.
Let’s test! The question is, if there are already about 30 comments replying to each other, will there be 30 lines on the left side? Now there are only 3 lines!
