Did anyone experience something similar?

Hi everyone,

I’ve been a vape user since 2018. I’ve always used 3-6mg 50/50 or 70/30 liquids in DL/MTL.
In the past year, a certain “illness” has developed:

dermatitis seborrhoica (DSC) with erythema and plaques

In Hungarian:

-chronic inflammatory skin disease

-red, sensitive, inflamed patch (plaque) on the scalp

-often itches, feels tight, burns

-can also be sensitive, “lump-like”

-comes and goes in waves

A dermatologist recommended everything, most of it disappeared, but a few larger lumps remained.
I switched from e-cigarettes to IQOS for 1 month, and it seemed to improve, it no longer hurt, it started to fade, but it was still there.
I went back to the doctor, and he said it was barely visible anymore.

I returned to using 6mg, consuming 10-12 ml of liquid daily, and 1-2 lumps reappeared just the same, and my whole head from the crown to the nape is throbbing, but now more than before.

My question is, could this also be a type of PG allergy? Or is the nicotine too much, or perhaps the daily ml amount? Does anyone have/had a similar experience?

Test it with a 100% VG, 6mg/ml liquid…if you have a PG allergy, it will become apparent quickly.
I’ve been vaping 3mg/ml 100% VG for 2 years, even though I don’t have a PG allergy…it worked for me.

Közel sem biztos, hogy a vape…. legtöbbször azonnal kijön, ha az.

I also thought that it should have come out long ago. Well, I hope I just convinced myself that it’s because of that. (I read a lot about the allergy topics here when it came out)

I also had a similar experience with 50/50 pg/vg, with red spots on my forehead. I switched to 30pg70vg a while ago, and since then no new spots have appeared.

If you mean me, then I haven’t shopped in a physical shop yet.
Until now, I’ve only used LH-based and Revolut-based funds, but from this year, only French own-brand ones. I don’t know if it plays a role, but if I eat more sweets, it intensifies.

Hi, what kind of wire are you using?

Atopic eczema is possible. Stress can also trigger it, or it can reappear on its own quite irregularly every few years. If it was present in childhood, it can reappear even after 10-20 years. It can be present for several years. Even though it’s called a flare-up period. The dermatologist doesn’t always think of this. It is true that all types of skin changes are eczema.

That’s why it’s strange, because I’ve never had any allergies. When I was little, I only had [an allergy] to strawberries and to Tomi detergent, but I grew out of them  However, stress, coffee, and confectionery consumption increased, as did liquid consumption. It might be the combination of these that is causing it.

This post was created because for the past 3 days it has often been unbearable, but looking at the numbers, I’m already at 600 puffs today, so I need to cut back on chain-puffing as well.

The wire is SS mesh, and for comfort, I only use pods now

Why don’t you switch to Kanthal?

Let’s not talk about sweets being the cause, because… I don’t think that’s it.

If it were from that, I would have long since turned to dust :joy:

I’ve been working with medications for 4 years, so I have no idea what I’m touching all day
I don’t think there can be a problem with the coil either, because there hasn’t been one so far. As I read, for example, if I touched nickel, the signs would already be visible.
It’s true I wear a cap now, I didn’t wear one before, my hair is also longer. So I can think of anything now, but I suspected the vape first, because often I don’t even notice it’s in my hand. I might be vaping it all afternoon, and the nicotine boosts my pulse, then I complain that it flared up again :joy:

I assume gloves and masks are mandatory. Many things are absorbed through the skin and lungs. Pillowcase change is recommended.

I also handled SS, Ni80 wire, but after about 2 years I realized I was allergic to it, or my body got saturated, I don’t know.

Since then, my redness has stopped. For the record, I use a 50/50 base in MTL and DL atomizers, and I even mix the flavors at max.

Unfortunately, we can only guess. We two-handed working people also handle many things. It’s also true that I definitely wouldn’t (handle/use) medicine

It doesn’t matter what kind of medicine… but most allergies usually trigger

Neither is mandatory, but I wear gloves, but it’s useless because these blister-like things often reappear on my hands too, apart from my fingers. It’s just that I usually operate a forklift, but who knows what’s circulating in the air :joy:
It’s true there are some things that shouldn’t be touched at all. Maybe my body just got fed up with it now.

This could also be a sneaky allergy. The warehouse fills up nicely, then it goes…

Yes, that’s conceivable. I had a colleague after whom, if you touched anything, your hands would start to itch. If you put on your glove afterwards, it wasn’t worth using because the coating would peel off when it came into contact with the car. :face_with_symbols_on_mouth::roll_eyes:
