Hi. Yes, as they wrote, priming is necessary even for the pre-wrapped ones. Who knows what kind of lubricants, chemicals, or anything might remain on them during manufacturing. I also build and prime on the mod, but that thing you bought is also good. The mod tips over easily, and if you accidentally grab the glowing coil, you won’t be laughing.
Start priming at a low wattage. It depends on the wire what wattage is good for it. Honestly, I don’t usually adjust anything on the mod either because I use only one type of tank wire.
