I asked, but I didn’t get a single answer. I even wrote privately to some people, and they didn’t even bother to reply, even though they were highly regarded and active members on Vaperina. But when I asked my questions, most vapers didn’t even know what a Red Artisan coil or Mavaton cotton is. So, I ended up posting a few ads. My most significant activity was in this topic.

Not my own experience, but I did receive the help I needed. However, I see many questioners and they immediately write ‘gilbert’.

Because there are many similar questions that could be self-answered with a little searching/reading.

You should come check us out on Discord. The community is great and there’s a good amount of info gathered, and everyone who works on running the server is super helpful.

Yes, you really didn’t have much activity, but I see you got some responses, and some not! You did a few deals, I guess that was good. You had a few questions, because, as anyone can see, everyone’s activity, the rest of the buying and selling towards the end, and Tomi!! In any case, this (again, just my opinion) I think that Vaperina’s financial situation is like this only because there are members who have been here for years, some who are here a lot, some who are here less, but even if not every month, they would have supported it a few times!!

He also draws partly from the communities’ responses. So, from our old topics too.

This is an important point about the community. In today’s fast-paced modern world, if someone supports something or someone, they don’t want to wait for someone to message them privately, but rather to receive all answers to their questions in a well-organized and consolidated manner. I am a supporter in many places or subscribed to extra content, and everywhere there, I almost always receive immediate answers to all my questions in some written or video format. If you need community help, you can get that on Discord as well.

Well, out of my over 100 purchases, max 5-10 happened here. Of course, it was good, but it could have been just as well done on Facebook or Discord. I hope you don’t think I want to trash Vaperina, I’m just saying that if only the community can answer my questions, you can get the answer on any free social media site. My suggestions would rather be directed towards getting people something extra besides the community’s answers; then the number of supporters would be higher. A good example of this is my favorite podcast, LEAK, where supporters also get membership to a private Discord server where a tremendous amount of info is shared in an organized and clearly understandable way.

Congratulations on being a supporter in many places!! I always got what I needed here!! It’s obvious you have no idea what this community is like!! I would just be curious, you support everything, Discord is cool, Tomipali is cool. If everything is good everywhere, then what are you doing here!! Because this year, when you joined, you only speak negatively!! And Tomipali is good and everything else too!!

I’m glad you got your replies. I think I know what the vaping community is like, and I even think I’ve done and am doing as much for the community every day as you or anyone else, and I even suspect I’m doing even more. And yes, Discord is a really cool thing, we’ve listed almost every active webshop, there are tons of building-related videos, pictures, and written materials uploaded, in addition, we keep up-to-date with new releases, the high-end market has shifted to closed Facebook groups, I’m thinking of Monarchy, Kaser, PRC, Delro - we bring drop info for these, when and where. Besides that, premium handmade coil tests and reviews can be found with us, as well as cotton tests. Mod, AIO, RTA, RBA recommendations. And for members with smaller budgets, we also recommend the best clones along with sourcing information. We post webshop promotions as they launch. And why I’m here, I actually registered for buying and selling, then I helped with answers where I could, and then I expressed my opinion in this topic. And I don’t think I spoke negatively, I just shared my own perspectives, which you could have ignored, but you insist on telling me why I’m wrong and how little I understand about vaping.

I didn’t say you don’t understand vaping, because I don’t know, it never even came up!! I didn’t write that you don’t know what the vaper community is like, but rather what it is like and how helpful it is!!! We are not and will not be on the same wavelength, that’s it!! I got everything I needed here, I don’t join Discord, I don’t support it!! I am a member here and I support this, even if it’s not much, because I want to and give it from the heart, because they really deserve it!!

One thing is for sure, we are not on the same wavelength and never will be. I also have an idea about the community here because I see which topics are active and what they are about. I didn’t even want to convince you to join or support our server. Although being a member here doesn’t exclude you from being a member there, the more places someone is a member, the larger the pool of information they have access to. I’ve written it down once before, but I’ll write it down again: I didn’t want to mess with the community or founders here, I just wanted to point out that if someone receives a similar info package for free, then to be a supporter elsewhere, they need something extra, in my opinion.

I’m not trying to convince you of anything! I know it doesn’t prevent me from being a member elsewhere, but I’ve already learned from the guys here (because they helped) what I might ever need, and even more!! If I need anything, there are people here who know (and will help). At least we’ll have a good chat!! Donát and Kinga have also developed a lot since I’ve been here, and they will if they can!! I say everyone should be where they feel good!! I’m here!! Peace.

A professional piece of advice for your knowledge base, if you accept it: based on what you’ve described, I’d be more worried about what happens if Discord tightens its rules.

We’ve said this countless times about Facebook back in the day: vapers are just guests on these tech giant platforms. If the company decides, under increasingly strict international laws, that from now on it’s “No Vape” or tightens its Terms of Service to such an extent that most vape servers will no longer comply, they can discard the whole thing (FB group, Discord server, or YouTube channel, etc.) in a single second. Then what will happen to the knowledge you mentioned that you’ve managed to accumulate there?

And I think we’ve arrived at why we are independent, why Vaperina is so valuable, and why this model is the only viable path in the long run.

Not to mention that content shared on Discord only helps those who somehow find their way there, and that’s not one of the easiest things to do. In contrast, Vaperina’s content and articles are clearly listed on search engines, so anyone from the internet can find their way here immediately with the help of e.g., Google or AI, whether they want to join, help, or need help.

According to your claim, you share sourcing information, webshop promotions, and even list shops on Discord. You can currently do this because you are on a private server that Googlebot doesn’t see and can only be joined by invitation, meaning authorities also find it harder to become aware of it. But keep in mind that Discord and its automatic filtering systems also see this content. This type of activity significantly increases the chance that your server will be shut down with a single click and a moderation ban later, and all your work to date will be lost with it.

Vaperina is backed by its own server, its own database, and its own developments. I could detail here what it means for a community that we can introduce new personalized features etc. according to the community’s needs. But I won’t, because I’ve written about it countless times before, and this is not possible in a place where you are just a guest.

Since our establishment, we have believed that every person who wants to switch from smoking, every vaper, has a fundamental right to knowledge and information. Our goal is to have as many informed vapers as possible, to provide them with the easiest possible access to this knowledge, and to develop vape culture in Hungary. This is why we don’t build paywalls, and this is why we remain completely free. Of course, this also includes that we are not planning for an uncertain future, but are organizing and preserving the accumulated collective knowledge in a searchable way for posterity.

I always save my own content, of course, so it’s accessible later. Yes, vapers are just guests. If Discord tightens up, the whole thing will move to Telegram or Signal. This is always a possibility since we are discussing and passionate about a not entirely legal topic. If the shut-down Discord server moves, the knowledge will also move to the next platform. Yes, the Discord is invite-only and you won’t find it on Google, but vaperina you will. For a pod user using nic salts, vaperina is found on Google where they can get this info from a member at most, and it’s not the easiest path for information. And yes, it can be shut down with the push of a button, but until then we have been able to help many people, and places like this spread by word of mouth, so it’s not that hard to get onto the server. No misunderstanding, I don’t want to badmouth vaperina, it’s just that in many cases, the site itself or the topics on the site are not the help, but rather one of the members who knows the source. No one can take away from you that you created a community space, but the real knowledge and the essential sourcing information are shared privately among members. Because what is publicly available are sites like aroma49, where you don’t get real quality. If a new vaper enters vaperina and sees ‘go to aroma49’ there, they won’t find many flavored nic salts, or they jump into an Aromea flavor that tastes like slop, then the switch will stop there, as they’ll have a bad experience immediately. I didn’t mean to say our Discord server is better or worse, just different. Both have their own environment, perhaps the only difference is that we don’t have to supplement from the family budget because it costs nothing. There are developments on the site, however, Gilbert often talks nonsense too, and it’s the members who actually help. Regarding the last paragraph, you are right, everyone has the right to knowledge, but it’s increasingly discussed that maintaining the site represents a significant financial burden for you, so if the amount that can be taken from the family budget runs out, the knowledge will not be sustained. I didn’t say to withhold knowledge, just that if you want to achieve more support, then in return, IN MY OPINION, you need more than just the most active topic being the one with pictures of members’ setups.
