The Community Instead of Ads

A little late, one last one…

Because if it’s Fehér Tomi, the vaperbook topic always comes up… It wasn’t successful because to this day it has no content. It’s not enough to launch a website, you need something that attracts people and keeps them there. The owner didn’t take care of it and, to my knowledge, hasn’t rectified that deficiency by filling the site with content to this day. For years I wrote articles for Vaperina to educate people, so that they could then help beginners, and of course, so there would be something to talk about. Because community building in the vape topic is also about this. But Tomi wasn’t taken by this part of things, because on the one hand, he sang odes about vaperbook from a monetary perspective, so for him it was work, and on the other hand, it was an excellent opportunity to have a place for his videos, so self-interest also played a part. If he really cared about the fate of Hungarian vapers, he wouldn’t back away from vaping. For him, it’s just business. Vlogging brings him money, and since the manufacturer or reseller unfortunately isn’t interested in content quality, looking at his follower count (not view count, because the two aren’t synchronized anyway), they easily gave him a phone, TV, electric scooter, electric bike, and many other things, so he could continue vlogging, just on different topics. Although I don’t follow his content, if I’m well-informed, vape has been largely pushed out, he gives less and less to the vape community from what he’s capable of providing, and quality is secondary to the current consequences… I understand that he’s backing away more and more, as vaping is no longer existentially safe for him, and of course, but I’ll just mention it quietly, there are some criminal legal implications too, due to forbidden advertising, which we can’t stop reminding people about, but it goes in one ear and out the other… Anyway, I think he could have filled vaperbook with content, essentially launched it, because he has enough followers that if he posts a picture of what he’s vaping today, hundreds would flock to it, but since he’s not that interested, the main thing is that his videos bring money, so he doesn’t invest energy in this part. And the punchline of the joke is that the owner of vaperbook himself isn’t that interested in the whole thing to activate the site. I guess the mere knowledge that he owns vaperbook is enough for him. :woman_shrugging:t3:

But the main point is this:

Ergo, subconsciously everyone knows what the situation is…

There can be differences between opinions, and we give them space! Our goal remains the same!

And I think this should be the end, otherwise it will never end!

Sorry to butt in, but we’ve really lost sight of the original problem. I wish from the bottom of my heart that people would support the maintenance of vaperina as passionately as they defend F.T. With half this vehemence and drive, the site wouldn’t have financial problems. One can take sides, for or against someone. At the present moment, on this site, neither negative nor positive opinions about the person have any significance whatsoever. The problem is the maintenance of vaperina! Let’s try to stick to the original topic and find a solution, for which everyone would be needed, regardless of their opinion about F.T. Thank you.

And that, you know, is worth as much as…

If this community is so well-established, large, and united, then how is it that not enough support is gathered, so that creators have to supplement the resources needed for its continuation? Then one of the claims here is not correct! Could it be that the community isn’t that large after all, or not united enough?

I don’t believe a community’s cohesion should be measured by the monthly support it receives.

Keeping the community together is also about not letting the shared platform go bust or expecting its maintenance solely from the creators. Of course, I might be alone with this opinion!

If you’re looking for me to argue with you on any level, you’ve come to the wrong place. It’s not my job to straighten out people who think they know everything better than everyone else. I respect your opinion on anything, but as we can see, there are things we disagree on, and my interest in them is extremely negligible. And that is perfectly fine with me. I will not fight for my opinion or against yours. There’s no point. Have a nice day.

For starters, you’ve also been a member for over a year, and as I see it, you haven’t done anything for the forum, you just log in sometimes and push nothing!! When you do nothing yourself, don’t you dare tell me what community cohesion is about!!! I’m done with this too!!Peace!!

Many people, (myself included), can only provide financial support to the site and its operators from time to time, or occasionally. BUT, they still do it, it’s just not advertised. From the 70k Ft disability allowance, there isn’t always enough for this too.
Community solidarity can also be measured in other ways. e.g. it has happened several times that they helped me - not with advice, but with hardware - or I helped someone completely free of charge with parts, materials, etc.

No one expects that.

You are not alone, we just think with different value systems.

I thought this topic was about this. Donát described the situation in the first post and asked for help with running the site, but it seems the point is who says it, not what is said. If I say it, it’s nonsense; if Donát says it, then of course you can understand it.

I still say it’s pointless to argue. Whoever has supported the page until now will likely continue to do so as they can, and whoever doesn’t want to, won’t. And there are people like me; after a month of getting acquainted with the page, I can bravely say this community is worth every cent. I just sent my first, and hopefully not my last, support, and I hope I can still get to return bottles this month (I’ve accumulated a good amount), which I’ll dedicate here too. But in a nutshell, let’s light the peace pipe, or I could say the vape, and vaporize the unnecessary negativity that has built up here.

I haven’t read this anywhere, but if you feel that way…

You are not alone, I see many things similarly to you. It was mentioned that Tomi had 300 names on his list for 1500 each, and here Donát wanted to sell Dani’s mod to pay for a month’s website maintenance costs. In my eyes, this means either Tomi did something very well to have so many supporters, or they are doing something very wrong here on Vaperina because there are problems month after month.

I will also write my opinion. First of all, I want to make it clear that I don’t want to offend anyone!! I think Donát and Kinga are perfect and put in a lot of work!! Of course, I know there are those who unfortunately cannot go without even a few thousand forints monthly, and there are those who don’t want to, they are lazy, arrogant, [thinking] this is their due!! There are those who question what isn’t done well, but if you look at the supporter list, they aren’t on it at all!! I don’t understand why they question the issue when the answer is precisely them and similar people!!

I’m happy to answer why I’ve never supported Vaperina, although that’s only half true, as I’ve already bought from the marketplace. But now I’m only speaking from my own perspective, what do I get in return if I support the site. There’s a topic where I can find out which EU shop carries my favorite French flavor, where to find my favorite Cypriot flavor, and what the delivery times and shipping costs are. If I want to vape at 36 watts in a restricted DL, I can find out which coil maker’s handmade coil will suit me best. Can I find out where to get quality handmade coils from PMC coil, Cnut coil, Red Artisan coil, Coil by Dennis, Steam Craft, Fresno? Whether Mavaton cotton or Cloud9 would be better for me, and where to get them and for how much. I’ve looked at the topics but haven’t received answers to these. What I found was some enthusiastic members talking amongst themselves. And that I should buy tobacco shop nicotine and food flavorings from Hungary.

Hi!
A question: Did you get answers to your questions elsewhere?
:peace_symbol:

Yes, on Discord. Moreover, some members here are also members there and can confirm these things. And also that I provide the answer to 40% of such questions. And what’s extra, I didn’t pay to find out, and I wasn’t paid to tell others.

Where you help others too! And you’re spot on about the boró topic.

I have nothing to do with why you didn’t support it, but if you’ve been here for 3 years and this is all you’ve gotten from the site, then I can only pity you!! Of course it’s good for Vaperina, you bought something from a marketplace because the money came here, and good for you too because you got it cheaper!! I received a lot of help, good advice! I chat with people, and I’ve met some! Interestingly, I found the answer to everything I needed. If I couldn’t find it because advertising is forbidden, I asked for help privately, or I didn’t even have to ask because people messaged me privately, or rather, I helped others!! If you had asked here and there was someone who could help, they would help!

There is no shortage of either here either, IMHO.
