I would like to ask how often a pre-made Ni80 2.5mm coil, and coils in general, need to be replaced with average use? If there’s already a description for this on the page, my apologies, but I couldn’t find it. Thanks!
Hi!
It’s not that simple, there are no rules. You can change it with every re-wick, but I, for example, use Claptons and dry burn them 2-3-4 times before they’re ready to be replaced. It’s really partly a matter of taste.
some people put in a new one with every rebuild.
I use plain wires. I also change it after about 3-4 cotton changes, but this also depends on the type of liquid.
I don’t just toss them away at every corner either… 4-5 rebuilds are easily done… You know, I use DL coils, they don’t deform… They don’t stretch…
It’s harder with a single strand of wire because as soon as you pull out the cotton, the coil is already ruined… I know it’s not like that for some people.. but I’m probably a barbarian ![]()
20 gauge wire, don’t let it break ![]()
When I take the cotton out of the deck, out of the coil, I always run water over it and pull it out with twisting motions. 99 out of 100 times the coil remains. It even works with my gunked-up setups
, even with wire… try it that way. ![]()
Plain wire… it’s not that big of a deal and I have a 10-year supply, so I throw it out every week, just like the cotton, even though with flavorless e-liquid, neither is due for replacement after 1 week. I like that fresh feeling that only a complete replacement provides.

Lesson learned: the price of the wire is not a factor in this. It’s a matter of taste and habit.
That’s all for the cotton

But the cloud is quite small…![]()

Good PG-heavy MTL …
Not much more than 3-400 Watts.

90/10

Depends on the flavor, I also have an 87/13 mix. ![]()
So precise ![]()

Were you not trying the full PG attempt? ![]()
