Coil wrapping

Hello everyone!

It is my firm conviction that a well-wrapped coil provides a much richer experience than a pre-built atomizer, but with the changes due to my age (60), this method is getting harder and harder. For 20 years, almost since the beginning, I have been making coils with a wrapping jig, and I talked everyone I could out of using pre-built atomizers because I knew that quality vaping could only be achieved this way. In recent years, I always chose high-quality tanks that were easy to build, but now even building these causes me difficulty. Among the many, I regularly use 3 mods and tanks, which I re-wick, burn off, or rebuild every week or two. For many years, this functioned as a kind of enjoyable ritual, but for a few years now, due to my hand tremors, it has become a kind of ordeal. Yesterday, the cup overflowed because I tried to wrap my new acquisition, the Alberich II MTL, 3 times, always messing something up. Obviously, I am not the only one struggling with these issues, so I am primarily asking them, as well as those who can suggest a pre-built MTL atomizer alternative that offers the quality vaping described above. Thank you!

Hi!
I don’t have much experience with atomizer tanks. Here on Vapereina, Innokin atomizers are generally highly praised. Perhaps a Zenith 2 could be a good choice.

Hi! Thank you for your advice! Unfortunately, I also have no experience with atomizers, but I am open to compromises, so I am mainly looking for advice from Vapers who have experienced both alternatives. Of course, I will look into the Zenith 2 you mentioned.

Hi! The Aspire Nautilus 3 works well for me. There is also an ‘S’ version, which differs roughly in that it has a honeycomb external covering on the tank body. The airflow is adjustable within wide limits. Several types of coils are available for it. It never leaked. The flavor reproduction is also good for me.

I only know the Aspire Nautilus from the past, but this is a particularly nice tank for me! Of course, I will check out the reviews written about it and the purchasing sources. Thank you for your advice!

Hi Józsi. @Gin

I also confidently recommend the Nautilus 3.

It brings good flavors, and if you happen to be allergic to nickel or SS wires (for the atomizer), the Vaptio Cosmo coil is also good instead of the Aspire BVC atomizer, which is Kanthal

If I remember your mixes correctly, they won’t gunk up that much.

Hi! Thank you very much for your recommendation! Several people have already suggested it, so I checked out many test videos, etc. I am currently hunting for a source of supply! I am not familiar with atomizer tanks right now; I am currently looking for MTL tanks. Luckily, I have never had any allergies flare up, so anything goes!

+1 to Nautilus 3.

Another vote for the Nautilus.. several acquaintances use it and I only get positive feedback from everywhere. Anyway, there are few truly MTL atomizer tanks.
Let’s see what’s on the market

Voopoo Doric Astra
Aspire Nautilus
Innokin Zenit
Geekvape Z MTL

That’s all that comes to mind.

Tasty Vapors

If you need a source for something, I’m happy to help privately.

+1 for doricra. That worked really well for me. I also used Zenith, but that’s a no-go for me.

Hi! I would also cast a +1 vote for the Nautilus 3, I have both versions (22 and 24mm) and with a 1ohm mesh coil, it gives quite good flavor in MTL, so far it hasn’t leaked on me, its airflow is quite flexibly adjustable. And what you wrote is true, a rebuildable atomizer can surpass this in flavor, but unfortunately, necessity is a great master.

It might also be worth looking for reviews of the newest version, you might find this in more shops due to its novelty (although it seems like another money grab to me)

P.S.: As far as I know, the Nautilus/BVC coils are wrapped with Kanthal.

Thank you very much for all of your selfless help and guidance! I have just ordered the Aspire Nautilus 3 and the Innokin Zenith 2 +10-10 atomizers.

Hi József, I wouldn’t skip this, I started with this and still have it today, what’s more, my wife only uses this! :waving_hand:

Thank you! First, I will test the already ordered Nautilus 3 and Zenith 2. I used a Joyetech Sub-Ohm about 10 years ago which looked almost like this, but that one had a cube atomizer that we could re-coil with a small trick. This looks like DL, whereas I am an MTL enthusiast.

Hi!

I have a SMOK Micro GDC Tank, similar to the Aspire Nautilus. In the box, there are 2 pcs. Smok M core 1.5ohm coils, and additionally, I have 1 box of 5 pcs. Smok Micro Core-A coils for it. I will upload pictures later, I’m just busy with a chainsaw right now . Until then, here is a video about it:

Thanks for your offer, but I won’t be taking it! I have already ordered my preferred brands, and I have generally always avoided smok!

I also have a Nautilus 3, and it’s quite good.
Basically, I always used MTL too, but I’ve switched recently. Vaporesso (and others too) have atomizers that are transitional between MTL and DL. The GTI and the GTX (the ‘x’ ones are mainly designed for Vaporesso mods named ‘x’)

Most of these (almost all) are sub-ohm, but those above 0.4 are more MTL-oriented. Those can rather be used this way.

Very durable atomizers, sometimes they last more than a month (for me), of course, they consume liquid more heavily. And they give very good flavor and vapor.

I use these atomizers with a Vaporesso XR Max Lux mod, but there is also a tank with a standard 500 connection for GTI and GTX atomizers. Just recently one of the Chinese (perhaps one of the oldest) websites had them on sale, so I ordered both tanks, when they arrive (the journey is long…) and I try them out, I will report back.

I don’t know if I can write the website address here, but I will send it if you are interested, although maybe you already know it, someone here also drew my attention to it. They give quite a lot of discount on subsequent orders, and they are reliable (besides being cheap).
