MTL RTA giving bad taste, off-flavor after e-liquid change

Hi everyone!
I have a Dead Rabbit MTL 2 Rta. I’m just guessing, I don’t know what the problem might be because I haven’t experienced issues with the liquids, coils, or cotton separately. Bombo Atenea, Bar Cotton Candy, Apple Kiwi Pear. BP Mods 2.5mm cotton, Wotofo Ni80 coil.
When I first assembled it, it had almost no flavor, but not an off-flavor either. I put it aside for a few days, thinking it was a bad purchase. After that, I tried it again and was surprised, it was very good. Then I just washed it with water and put Cotton Candy in it, and it tasted so bad I don’t know what to compare it to. After this, I soaked it in plain water for about a day, rinsing it several times in between, because I thought the flavor from the first liquid might have gotten stuck in it. After that, I tried it again with the same liquid, and it’s the same bad taste. Then I just simply washed it and put the apple liquid in. It’s present to some extent here too, mostly as an off-flavor. But mostly, there’s a lack of flavor, like I experienced with the first liquid. I guess it will improve, it hasn’t been in there for a full day yet.
Could it be that this Cotton Candy isn’t good for this tank (that’s probably nonsense), and in the other cases, the cotton just needs to be broken in?

Hi!
I’ve had a situation where the center pin on one of my tanks wasn’t tightened properly, and that can cause this kind of problem. If that’s not it, then the cotton is likely the culprit.

Maybe I’m misunderstanding something, let’s see if I’m interpreting the question correctly: Flavor change, and you washed the tank then cotton in it, and go, and a bad taste comes?

Did you use up/clean the coil between the two flavor changes? Could it be that the liquid gunked up the coil a bit, and plain water doesn’t remove it, causing the off-flavor?

Thank you for this advice, I’ve been changing it, so I’ll look into it better. I didn’t want to pull it too tight or break it. Now I just put it on/through in one go, as if it were better, and I’ll check it again when I take it apart. And then I’ll buy some other cotton too, as it’s always needed anyway.

I washed it when it was new, and I always wash it between liquid changes. Yes, I always dry-burn the coil too if it’s been used more; sometimes I even dip it under water until it’s yellow. It’s not burnt, it’s an almost new coil; it hasn’t even gone through 10ml.

Hi!
Have you steeped your liquids long enough? (minimum one week, but it’s okay if it’s longer.)

It’s also worth trying another pack of BP Mods cotton, or perhaps another type (Cotton Clouds).

Just like no two people are the same, no two cottons, coils, or liquids are the same, because they can be, and most likely are, from different manufacturing stages. You have to try multiple options, of course, if possible.

But one thing is certain. And I have experienced this myself before. When you buy a new atomizer, it always performs better on the first coil than on the subsequent ones…
This is just how it is. You have to experiment… and if you don’t give up in the process, you might succeed.

A few pictures always help.. it’s visually easier to spot the problem and give advice

They’re already over a month old. I’ll try the other cotton later. And I

Alright, I’ll try the advice I received, without a picture for now. If it doesn’t solve it, I’ll document the situation afterwards.
