I’ve brought something from HealthCabin again. This time, a POD is on the table, specifically the Kumiho THOTH G. Frankly, I wasn’t really satisfied with its predecessors (especially the S model), but I thought we could give Kumiho another chance, perhaps it will perform better this time than before. Fortunately, they’ve abandoned the cube-body design, and the THOTH G embodies a pen-like gadget much more reminiscent of a POD. The plastic body is also a thing of the past; only the base is made of PC (polycarbonate) plastic, while the body itself is an aluminum alloy, making it more resistant to drops and falls. They’ve packed in a 900mAh battery and it can deliver a maximum of 35 Watts, which isn’t a lot, but fortunately, they don’t send it with the lowest resistance coil, making its use quite livable. It’s compatible with all THOTH POD heads, whose resistances typically increase by 0.2 Ohms. The smallest is 0.4 Ohm, followed by 0.6, 0.8, 1.0, and 1.2 Ohm resistances. The package includes the 0.6 Ohm POD head by default.
The manufacturer has released it in 10 colors, 8 of which are sold by HealthCabin. So, in this case, we can choose from these 8 colors: gold, violet, green, blue, red, silver, grey, and black. The red one arrived with me, and not only is its fantasy name “charming,” but this bold shade of red is truly enchanting. But let’s see now if I have to be disappointed with Kumiho this time.

Box Contents and Getting to Know the Device
There’s nothing in the box! The user manual is indeed tucked away under the soft POD bed, and there’s a 0.6 Ohm POD head in the device, but besides that, we get nothing else.
On the left, we find the adjustable airflow control, which is in just the right place so you don’t have to search for it for long. However, it’s a bit loose. There’s some noticeable resistance when sliding it, but in my opinion, it’s too little to prevent it from accidentally changing. On the right, we find the USB-C port, which theoretically supports fast charging with its 5V/1.2A input voltage. In practice, however, it takes about an hour and a quarter to charge the 900mAh built-in battery from zero, which, considering the capacity, doesn’t seem that fast, but it’s not terribly long either. I think this is still quite bearable.
With the THOTH G, the manufacturer has changed the connector again. Here, the magnets located in the POD are hidden; they are under the plastic inner lining, which isn’t a bad idea, as liquid or its vapor can seep through the thin gaps next to the magnets, which might not be good for the POD in the long run. The 2ml capacity mesh POD heads remain unchanged, as the entire THOTH series uses the same ones. As usual, the POD heads have a recommended wattage range for their Ohm values, which are as follows: 0.4 Ohm between 25-35W, 0.6 Ohm between 20-25W, 0.8 Ohm between 16-20W, 1.0 Ohm between 12-15W, and 1.2 Ohm between 10-12W. Not to mention, the magnets are sufficiently strong both in the device and on the POD head. The POD head sits rock-solid in the connector, with no slight movement or wobble.
The menu is very minimalist, but at least it exists and works well, plus it’s simple to use. If we press the fire button 3 times quickly, we can adjust the wattage by pressing the fire button until the desired power is set, or it cycles back to the lowest value. If we press the fire button 5 times quickly, the minimalist menu appears, where we can reset the puff count with Puff Clear, lock the fire button with Lock so that the device can only be used with the auto-draw sensor (while the button is not locked, it fires both on button press and auto-draw). Finally, there’s also a Power Off option to turn off the device, and then turn it back on with 5 quick fire button presses. Each option must be activated by navigating the underline to the desired menu item, then long-pressing the fire button to activate the selected option. While we are in the menu, or if the button lock is active (indicated by the Lock text on the home screen), the auto-draw sensor unfortunately does not work. But this only lasts for 3 seconds, so it’s not too bothersome.
Previously, I’ve reviewed the T and S models from the THOTH series. I was somewhat satisfied with the T, but it wasn’t perfect either, and the S was a huge disappointment for me. That’s why I was very afraid I would be disappointed with the G as well. Whether I had to be, you’ll find out in the next episode…
Review
Regarding the exterior and design of the THOTH G, the manufacturer has moved in a good direction this time! The shape is appealing, not too thin, it feels good in the hand, not too heavy, but still has some weight. Perhaps the surface is a bit slippery, but not excessively so. Plastic-bodied PODs will never be as durable as those with metal bodies. Thus, this is the first major positive point that can be said about this device. Thanks to this, even though it fell, because unfortunately it did fall 1-2 times, the problem I experienced with the S model did not occur, where the device simply went haywire after a fall. It couldn’t sense the Ohm value correctly, and no matter what Watt value I set, it immediately started burning the coil of the POD head. Well, this problem is gone with the THOTH G! And I think this is largely thanks to the aluminum alloy body, because the circuit board can be integrated much more stably into housings made of such materials, and the fastening is less likely to loosen or detach in a metal housing. In contrast, plastic housings can easily be damaged, even internally, which is why plastic-bodied models are not as reliable. But as I mentioned above, these risks no longer exist with the G model. Moreover, on the G model, the fire button is also metal, which I was also happy about. Simply put, a POD made of metal is much more stable and has fewer issues. The entire fire button area is responsive, meaning that no matter where you press it, it will detect it, so Kumiho has succeeded brilliantly here too. As I mentioned, it did hit the floor a few times, yet not a single scratch appeared on it, which is also thanks to the metal body. This bodes well for its durability. The side airflow control allows quite a lot of air through, which is definitely good for lower resistance POD heads. When slightly restricted, the air resistance is also noticeable, which is absolutely essential for higher resistance POD heads to achieve the MTL feeling. Although the mentioned airflow control slider is a bit loose, it can be adjusted relatively easily, but only when the air is restricted. If it’s fully open, nothing can catch it to adjust it. Since I mostly used it with fully open airflow, this wasn’t a problem in this case.A menüt használni abszolút nem bonyolult. Bár sokan idegenkednek az 1 gombos menürendszerektől, szerintem viszont van olyan, hogy nem is kell ennél jobban túlspilázni. Ráadásul az a pár menüpont ami a THOTH G-ben van az bőven elegendő a használatához, mert a kevesebb néha több. Mindenesetre minden úgy működik ahogy kell, tehát a menüt abszolút problémamentesen és egyszerűen lehet használni. Ebbe ha akarnék se tudnék belekötni, mivel szó szerint faék egyszerű. Talán csak annyi, hogyha lezárjuk a tűzgombot és csak vákuumkapcsolóval használjuk akkor ha véletlen benyomódik a tűzgomb és feltűnik a Lock üzenet, akkor addig nem működik a vákuumkapcsoló. De mire ismét beleszívnánk már el is tűnik az üzenet, mert csak 3 másodpercig látható. Úgy gondolom ez egyáltalán nem zavaró. A tűzgomb amúgy is nehezen nyomódik be külső behatás hatására.
A PODfejek mindegyike nagyon jó ízvisszaadással rendelkezik. A gőz is abszolút kielégítő. Nem is csoda, hisz ezek mesh porlasztóval ellátott PODfejek, amik közismertek arról, hogy nagyon is jók. Elég jó az üzemidejük a PODfejeknek is. Alsó hangon közel 1 hetet lazán kibír, de persze ez liquid-függő, de a PODfejek között ez jónak mondható. A kisebb Watt értéken működő 1.0 és 1.2-es PODfejek is viszonylag sok gőzt produkálnak a magas ellenállás ellenére is. Ezekre méginkább nincs panaszom, hisz az íz kimagasló, a gőzélmény pedig kielégítő. Az akkut sem húzza meg túlságosan, különösen a 0.8 és az feletti ellenállással rendelkezők. Egy egész napot vígan kibír, de akár másfelet is, ha az 1.0 vagy 1.2 Ohm-os PODfejjel használjuk. Az újratöltés is simán megy, ugyanis olyan nagy nyílás van a PODfejen, hogy bármiből meg tudjuk tölteni. Csak arra kell ügyelni, de ez nem csak a THOTH PODfejeire igaz, hogy ne töltsük teljesen tele, máskülönben szörcsögni fog, ami bár hamar megszűnik, de amíg fennáll addig szerintem zavaró tud lenni. A készülék csatlakozójában korábban gyakori volt a párakicsapódás, ami a G modellre már nem igazán jellemző. Sokkal kevesebb liquid pára keletkezik a PODfej alatt használat közben ami szintén hatalmas pozitívum. Ez pedig annak köszönhető, hogy nem melegszik túl a készülék, mivel a hűtés jól el van találva. Tehát összességében elmondható a THOTH G-ről, hogy ezt most nagyon eltalálta a Kumiho!

Pró 
- Alumínium ötvözet ház. Gondolom a Kumiho belátta, hogy a T és S modelleknél alkalmazott műanyag ház nem a legjobb választás és milyen jó, hogy még időben rájöttek erre. Sokkal kapósabb és vonzóbb egy fémházas POD mivel némileg ütés és karcállóvá teszi a terméket ami miatt a kopás sem jellemző rá. Ráadásul a board-ot is sokkal jobban védi.
- Kiváló kialakítás. A formája ismerős, nem 1 és nem 2 ilyen pen dizájnú POD van a piacon és épp emiatt olyan szerethető, mivel ez a megszokott formavilág az ami mindenki kedvében tud járni. A súlya nagyon jó, bár alig érezhető, de pont emiatt olyan jó. A tűzgomb és levegőztető csúszka elhelyezkedése szintén tökéletes, hamar rááll az ember keze.
- Kiemelkedően jó ízvisszaadású PODfej. Mivel mesh porlasztó van a PODfejekben így nem is lehetne másképp, minthogy kiváló ízvisszaadása legyen. A gőzképzés pedig abszolút kielégítő. Egyszerűen tökéletes! Ráadásul a kokszolódás mértéke sem olyan vészes, minimum 5-6 napot simán kibír egy PODfej, persze attól is függ milyen liquid-et használunk. Ezt az időintervallumot csak fokozni lehet!
- Jó üzemidő. A 900mAh nem tűnik soknak, de mivel jól ki van egyensúlyozva az ellenállás és a teljesítmény, így azért megvan a minimum 10-12 óra üzemidő az alacsonyabb ellenállású 0.4-0.6 Ohm-os PODfejekkel is. Persze a 0.4-es a fent említett üzemidőnek az alsó határát súrolja, de azért összességében ez nem mondható rossznak. Én egyébként az 1.0 Ohm-os porlasztót találtam a legjobbnak a készülék adottságaihoz mérve. Azzal megvan az 1-1.5 nap 13 Watt-on. A korábbi modellek tesztjei után maradt még PODfejem, azokból a G-hez használtam el párat. Így teljes magabiztossággal írhatom, hogy az 1.0 Ohm-os a legjobb párosítás a THOTH G-hez.
- Egyszerű használat. Igazából nem is nagyon kell állítgatni a készüléket, mivel beállítja a Watt-ot, ami általában jó szokott lenni, de ha mégis utána kell állítanunk az sem bonyolult. Az a minimális fapados menü pedig javarészt nem is lesz használatban, tehát ebből kifolyólag írhatom, hogy ez egy végtelenül egyszerű készülék, ami a használatát illeti.
- Kevésbé párásodik. A jól eltalált hűtés hozzájárul ahhoz, hogy a lehető legkevesebb párakicsapódás jöjjön létre a PODfej alatt. Emellett ez a készülék nem is igazán melegszik, 0.8 Ohm-tól felfelé pedig egyáltalán nem jellemző, így a párakicsapódás is visszaszorul egy élhető szintre ami pedig hozzájárul a készülék tartósságához.
Kontra 
- Kissé laza levegőszabályzó csúszka. Ez egy olyan probléma amibe ha jobban belegondolunk nem is igazán probléma. Persze azért el tud állítódni a csúszka ha be van szűkítve a levegőzés és úgy beleakad pl. cipzárba vagy mikor a retikülből bányásszuk elő, viszont ha állandóan a kezünk ügyében van a THOTH G akkor ez már meg is van oldva. Az ezzel kapcsolatos bosszúságom nagyon enyhe volt. Ebből adódóan csak egyszer nem kaptam levegőt a POD-on keresztül, de szerencsére nem jellemző az ebből adódó beégése a PODfejben lévő porlasztónak.
- Kevés tartozék. Mivel a THOTH G-t sikerült nagyon jóra megalkotnia a gyártónak így kissé nehezményezem, hogy nincs legalább még 1db PODfej a dobozban. Persze, ez a korábbi modellekre is jellemző volt, de azok nem is voltak ilyen jók, így azoknál nem sajnálkoztam ennyire a kevés tartozék miatt, de mivel úgy érzem a G modell még sikerre futhat, így nem ártana egy csere-fej abba az egyébként tök üres dobozba. Persze, lehet hozzá rendelni, de azért na… Arról nem is beszélve, hogy balesetek bármikor előfordulhatnak, szóval legalább 1 PODfej azért lehetne még benne.
Így a végére pedig csak annyit még, hogy úgy érzem hatalmas pozitív csalódás ért! Olyan szinten össze szedte magát a Kumiho a THOTH G-vel, hogy még akár be is kerülhet a megbízható kategóriába a G modell! Bár a Kumiho előélete nem mutatott szép jövőt a gyártónak, de mivel a THOTH G-vel sikerült valami igazán jót alkotniuk így a rossz megítélésen még simán tudnak fordítani! Ha valaki egy egyszerű, jó ízvisszaadású és nem utolsó sorban szép POD-ot keres akkor a Kumiho THOTH G-t tudom ajánlani.

The menu is absolutely not complicated to use. Although many are hesitant about one-button menu systems, I think there are times when it doesn’t need to be overdone. Moreover, the few menu items in the THOTH G are more than enough for its use, because less is sometimes more. In any case, everything works as it should, so the menu can be used absolutely problem-free and simply. I couldn’t find fault with it even if I wanted to, as it’s literally as simple as a wedge. Perhaps the only thing is that if we lock the fire button and only use it with the draw activation, then if the fire button is accidentally pressed and the Lock message appears, the draw activation will not work until then. But by the time we would take another puff, the message disappears because it’s only visible for 3 seconds. I don’t think this is bothersome at all. The fire button is anyway hard to press due to external impact.
All of the POD heads have very good flavor reproduction. The vapor is also absolutely satisfactory. It’s no wonder, as these are POD heads equipped with mesh atomizers, which are known to be very good. The POD heads also have pretty good battery life. At a minimum, they easily last nearly a week, but of course, this depends on the liquid, but among POD heads, this is considered good. The 1.0 and 1.2 POD heads, which operate at lower Watt values, also produce relatively a lot of vapor despite the high resistance. I have no complaints about these either, as the flavor is outstanding, and the vapor experience is satisfactory. It doesn’t drain the battery too much either, especially those with resistance of 0.8 Ohm and above. It easily lasts a whole day, or even one and a half days if used with the 1.0 or 1.2 Ohm POD heads. Refilling is also easy, as there is such a large opening on the POD head that you can fill it with anything. You just need to be careful, and this is not only true for THOTH POD heads, not to fill it completely, otherwise, it will gurgle, which, although it stops quickly, can be bothersome while it lasts. Previously, condensation was common in the device’s connector, which is not really characteristic of the G model anymore. Much less liquid vapor is generated under the POD head during use, which is also a huge positive. This is because the device does not overheat, as the cooling is well-designed. So, overall, it can be said about the THOTH G that Kumiho has really nailed it this time!
So far, everything is great! Now let’s break down the important points.
Pros
- Aluminum alloy housing. I guess Kumiho realized that the plastic housing used in the T and S models was not the best choice, and it’s great that they figured this out in time. A metal-housed POD is much more appealing and desirable, as it makes the product somewhat shock and scratch-resistant, meaning it’s also less prone to wear and tear. Plus, it protects the board much better.
- Excellent design. The shape is familiar; there isn’t just one or two pen-style PODs like this on the market, and that’s precisely why it’s so likable, as this familiar design appeals to everyone. The weight is very good; although barely noticeable, that’s precisely what makes it good. The placement of the fire button and airflow slider is also perfect; you get used to it quickly.
- POD head with outstanding flavor reproduction. Since the POD heads have mesh atomizers, it couldn’t be otherwise than to have excellent flavor reproduction. And the vapor production is absolutely satisfactory. Simply perfect! Furthermore, the rate of gunking up is not that bad; a POD head easily lasts at least 5-6 days, depending, of course, on the liquid used. This time interval can only be increased!
- Good battery life. The 900mAh may not seem like much, but because the resistance and power are well-balanced, you get at least 10-12 hours of battery life even with the lower resistance 0.4-0.6 Ohm POD heads. Of course, the 0.4 Ohm is at the lower end of the aforementioned battery life, but overall, this cannot be considered bad. Personally, I found the 1.0 Ohm atomizer to be the best given the device’s capabilities. With it, you get 1-1.5 days at 13 Watts. After testing previous models, I had some leftover POD heads, which I used with the G. So, I can confidently state that the 1.0 Ohm is the best pairing for the THOTH G.
- Easy to use. In reality, you don’t need to adjust the device much, as it sets the Wattage, which is usually good, but if you need to adjust it, it’s not complicated. The minimal, basic menu will mostly not even be used, so from this perspective, I can say that it is an infinitely simple device in terms of use.
- Less condensation. The well-designed cooling contributes to minimizing condensation under the POD head. Additionally, this device doesn’t really get hot; from 0.8 Ohm upwards, it’s not characteristic at all, so condensation is also reduced to a manageable level, which contributes to the device’s durability.
Cons
- Slightly loose airflow slider. This is a problem that, upon closer consideration, isn’t really a problem. Of course, the slider can move if the airflow is restricted and it catches on something, like a zipper, or when you pull it out of your handbag, but if the THOTH G is constantly within reach, this is resolved. My annoyance regarding this was very mild. Consequently, I only once failed to get airflow through the POD, but fortunately, it’s not typical for the atomizer in the POD head to burn out because of this.
- Few accessories. Since the manufacturer managed to create the THOTH G so well, I slightly resent that there isn’t at least one more POD head in the box. Of course, this was also characteristic of previous models, but they weren’t as good, so I didn’t lament the few accessories as much then, but since I feel the G model has the potential to be a success, it would be good to have a spare head in that otherwise completely empty box. Of course, you can order them separately, but still… Not to mention that accidents can happen anytime, so there could at least be one more POD head included.
To conclude, I must say I feel I’ve had a huge positive surprise! Kumiho has pulled themselves together so much with the THOTH G that the G model could even be considered reliable! Although Kumiho’s past didn’t show a bright future for the manufacturer, since they managed to create something truly great with the THOTH G, they can still turn around their poor reputation! If someone is looking for a simple, good-flavor-reproducing, and, last but not least, beautiful POD, I can recommend the Kumiho THOTH G.
