Buying a complete MOD kit as a beginner.

Hello everyone!
I’m very happy to have found you.
After 27 years of smoking, I smoke 12-15 cigarettes a day. I thought I’d switch to e-cigarettes. It all started when my daughter got a GeekVape T200 with a nicotine-free pineapple liquid from her boyfriend. She showed it to me and I tried it. Well, I liked it, it’s tasty and good. Currently, I’m still smoking cigarettes, but ah, I’m already tired of it. And it’s getting more and more expensive too.

I’m looking for a device that can last from 5 AM to 9 PM on a single charge. I’ve only been reading for 3 days, but I’m still very ignorant. I’ve narrowed it down to 2 manufacturers and 2 devices:
GeekVape L200 Aegis Legend 3 KIT or the Voopoo Drag 5. I definitely want a top-fill and tank-based device. I think if I buy extra atomizers, it will be simpler to change them than to build coils and wick.
I’d rather buy a better quality device from the start that will be less hassle and last 3-5 years. If such a thing exists. I would purchase in person from Párkány or Komárno. Or what’s your opinion on esmokers.co? Or can I order online from a place that is guaranteed good and the package will arrive with the battery, charger, and liquids. For now, I thought I’d buy pre-mixed liquids and just add the nicotine myself. I smoke 12-15 Blue Hamilton cigarettes a day. I think a nicotine strength of 6 will be enough.

I don’t want to make a mistake and I don’t want to be ripped off. Please excuse any spelling errors.

Hi!

As a vaper for 13 years, I can only welcome your decision. :+1:

I cannot confirm or deny the devices; the expert colleagues here will do that. I’ve steered 5 people in the office to e-cigs, they all use Ursa Nano pods, changing the pod heads monthly, and are completely satisfied with them, so it’s a matter of taste.

However, what I would like to draw your attention to, and many beginner vapers in my vicinity run into. For analog cigarettes, I suggest starting with a 9mg liquid, because you will feel the nicotine is not enough and you’ll go back to analogs. Try (if you are buying pre-mixed liquids) not to use nicotine salts, because they have a much smaller throat hit, which is also a factor when switching from analogs. And one more important thing. I understand pineapple, it’s good, but have at least one tobacco flavored liquid in your assortment. (Ry4 is perfect, and almost every brand offers it) You tortured your body with a smoky thing for 27 years, fruit won’t immediately knock it out, have a backup tobacco liquid, at least for your morning coffee.

I’m writing these from a 13-year perspective/experience. The rest is just a matter of determination.
I wish you a good smoke-free vaping life, with big clouds for the future.

Hi! The decision itself is worth a congratulation, that you want to quit the stink stick!

I completely agree with @Arpee, fellow vaper, on everything! Especially regarding the nicotine amount! It’s better to have it stronger from which you can reduce later, than to get cravings.

My wife uses the Ursa Nano and I also used Ursa pod heads… In terms of flavor and pod head durability, I really take my hat off.. What’s negative is that it’s not a product that lasts from 5 AM to 9 PM.. the battery won’t last, and since it’s only 2.5ml, you’ll obviously have to refill it a few times.. What I didn’t like about it was that the liquid level is hard to detect, and also that the cotton opening in the atomizer is very high up… It definitely has a name :joy: so you really have to refill it often because it quickly reaches a critical level… even though there’s still liquid in it.

That’s my take on the negative side of the Nano..

The two mod-kits you mentioned are mainly DL devices. So, first of all, you need to decide what you want…
DL: direct lung hit with lots of vapor
MTL: inhale like an analog cigarette.. first into your mouth then from there to your lungs.. here the vapor is smaller.. the two paths are completely different..
So, in my opinion, this is the most important question first, if we know that, then we can talk about the devices

Unfortunately, I don’t know the site you mentioned.

Happy Vaping  and welcome among the vapers here

The Ursa was just an example, I was rather aiming at form versus function. A pod is more than enough - or two at the beginning, until they get used to it, and that’s not nearly as costly an affair. (More is left for liquid, for example… )

Sure, it will… Rather a pod than a poorly chosen mod, or jumping straight into a DL setup. Which, in my opinion, is immediately completely unusable for quitting cigarettes.

You hit the nail on the head! Simplicity, greatness. You can pour all the money in the world into this… I didn’t start with a Provari or Origen tanks back then either… Out of 5 colleagues, 4 are still struggling for the same reasons with Laca’s (vapemaster) liquids… Then we’ll see where everyone grows into…

Hi!
I’d like to echo what others have said, as they’ve written many wise things!
I would also recommend a more powerful pod device; for me, for example, it was the Vaporesso Luxe XR Max.
The 9mg/ml strength is definitely worth considering, and at the beginning, you really need a tobacco flavor to help you mentally switch from cigarettes.
Good luck!!

Two Pods, preferably the same kind, and at most a power bank in the bag, and

Well, at 9mg/ml in MTL, a device can last quite a while too.

But that’s totally valid, I also have two pods :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Just for convenience, fruit all in one, tobacco all in one… :

Hi.
Welcome among us.
I switched a few years ago after 32 years of analogs, so it can be done.
It’s also a big advantage if you go to one of the shops, if you can see it, hold it in your hand, etc. etc.
If you tell them what you want, they will surely help
Good luck.

Except for those who are bothered by throat hit, like me.
In my opinion, everyone has to experience this for themselves during the initial transition period. If 9-12mg (or even higher) isn’t working for some reason, I definitely recommend trying nicotine salts before going back to analogues.

I had a failed attempt about 6-7 years ago precisely because of nicotine; I was constantly craving it, but stronger (12-16mg) freebase nicotine made me feel sick, so I ended up sticking with analogues. My current second attempt went much easier with a 20mg nicotine salt liquid (pre-mixed, flavored), I quit analogues (1-1.5 packs a day), and shortly after switching, I was already mixing my own liquids (like 6-7 years ago, but now with nic salt boosters). I’m currently at a 4-5mg hybrid dose, having reduced it in steps.

I completely agree about flavors; a tobacco-like flavor could definitely be useful initially.

I forgot that for the past week I’ve been smoking 1-2 cigarettes a day.
Alongside Nicotineell chewing gum.
Admittedly, sometimes I get annoyed, but I feel it’s better. I quit similarly for about a year before.
Then came a house party. I lit up again there.
I miss the gesture more, and having something to fiddle with. :slightly_smiling_face:

This is how it is, but I’ve been trying to quit for a week already. It’s not working at all. 2 cigarettes a day. All this while, at work, I also go out to the smoking area in the yard with the others. I can resist not lighting up. I always have a few cigarettes and a lighter with me.

Hi!
There was a time when even going completely to 0 worked for me. True, for two weeks I had very unpleasant withdrawal symptoms, then I didn’t really think about lighting up anymore.
In return, replacement activities emerged: chewing gum, chocolate, candy, and a very good appetite. At that time, I also gained at least 10 kg.
And after half a year, smoking just a single cigarette was enough for me to completely relapse.

I smoked analog cigarettes for 30 years, and once managed 9 days without one!! I first encountered vaping a little over 2 years ago! Since then, I haven’t had a single cigarette, I switched to 12mg/ml without any difficulty, even though I used to smoke 2 packs a day!! Now I’m at 8mg/ml!!

I fear that too. But I feel it’s better this way. Not to mention that it’s still a lot of money even when refilling like this. My wife and I vape away 65-70k HUF. It’s not very good and it’s also expensive.

I had 30-90 day records, but in the meantime, I endured extreme suffering, weight gain, sugars, snus, etc. Sleep was a salvation…
