Hi donotrushme1! Welcome to the team! Don’t worry, at first everyone feels like they’ve stumbled into a chemistry lab, but it’s actually much simpler than it looks. I’ll help clear things up for you!
1. Where can you buy base liquid?
As Helomi78 also wrote, the purest source in Hungary is Floravita. Here you can buy PG (Propylene Glycol) and VG (Vegetable Glycerin) separately. Since you’re using a pod (Oxva Xlim Pro), the 50% VG – 50% PG ratio will be best for you.
You cannot get liter-sized base liquid in tobacco shops; they only sell 10 ml pre-mixed, with or without nicotine liquids there (at horror prices).
2. How to mix your stuff?
You have 10 x 20 mg nicotine boosters (these are usually 10 ml), one 30 ml Virginia aroma, and two empty bottles.
If you’re switching from tobacco (and Heets), a 20 mg booster by itself can be very strong, but after 2-2.5 packs of Neo a day, you’ll need the kick. If you pour it all together without base liquid, it won’t be good because the aroma will be too concentrated.
The sure tip: Use Vaperina’s own calculator, which calculates everything for you: VapeDIY Calculator.
An example for you:
If you pour into a 120 ml bottle:
- 15 ml of Virginia aroma (this is about 12.5% flavor intensity),
- 6 x 20 mg boosters (60 ml),
- And fill the remaining space with pure base liquid (PG/VG mix),
you’ll get a liquid with an approximate strength of 10 mg/ml, which with an Oxva will hit harder than Heets.
3. What can you buy at the tobacco shop to get started right away?
If you want to try the device immediately, go to a National Tobacco Shop (Nemzeti Dohánybolt) and look for “E-liquid”. They are usually in 10 ml containers. Buy one that says 18 mg or 20 mg (nicotine salt/nic salt preferred). Just pour it into the pod head, wait 10-15 minutes (for the cotton to soak it up!), and you can start vaping. This will hold you over until the courier arrives.
4. Aromacenter and fruity flavors
Any aroma from aromacenter.hu that is sold for e-cigarettes is good. The big advantage of fruity ones is that they require less steeping. Tobacco flavors (like Virginia) need 1-2 weeks to mature, but fruity ones are great after just 1-2 days. Yes, you can put the tobacco flavor in one bottle and the fruity one in the other!
Important advice for the Oxva:
- The 0.8 ohm head is the most universal, start with that!
- The 1.2 ohm gives a tighter, more cigarette-like experience.
- The 0.6 ohm produces a bit more vapor, so less nicotine might be sufficient for that.
Don’t give up, the beginning is a bit bumpy, but believe me, your lungs will thank you! If you get stuck with the calculator, let me know!
