I would like to ask for help regarding the following problem.
I mixed the TJ Dragon Energy flavoring at a 10% concentration in a 30VG / 70PG base. However, I experience a strong dry hit when using the finished liquid.
I’ve been vaping Heisenberg for years, and I thought I’d switch.
I used a 50VG-50PG ratio before.
The device is a Voopoo DM2, operating with a mesh atomizer.
I usually use it at 32W (theoretically, it should be between 40-60, but this gives me the best vaping sensation).
So, even the high wattage of the atomizer shouldn’t be a problem.
What could be the reason for the dry hit occurring with one flavoring but not the other?
Is it possible that the 10% mixing ratio is too high for this flavoring, or could the 30VG / 70PG composition of the base be the cause of the problem?
Hi, after reading up a bit on this atomizer/coil head, it should indeed handle higher wattage and the 70 VG/30 PG ratio mixture, although I would have immediately guessed that’s what’s causing it…
Perhaps chain vaping, improper priming of the atomizer/coil head when you first use it, or if the liquid level in the tank is very low can also cause a dry hit… but you’ve surely thought about these already.
Maybe try again with 50/50…
I don’t think a different flavor would cause this, especially since flavors are mostly PG-based…
I had that too, but I concluded that the cotton in the atomizer isn’t transferring the liquid fast enough at 50/50. Maybe you could try to carefully poke the cotton from the outside with a needle because that’s the culprit. For this Mesh sheet, they should have used different cotton, for example, one that is porous; this transfers to the inner cotton, which, however, is no longer porous because it stores.
