Unopened concentrate storage

Greetings and have a nice day to all Steam Friends :waving_hand:

My question is, I have about 600ml of unopened concentrate left, their delivery times vary, the oldest is about 1.5 years old. So far I have stored them in a closed, darkened box, at room temperature (between 18-20 C). Since I will be using them for quite some time (I mixed from the oldest and it’s fine) Is it worth freezing them? I thank you in advance for your answers and advice. Have a nice day to you :victory_hand:

Please check this out :saluting_face::

My advice: if it’s running low, feel free to mix it.

What doesn’t deliver after the first taste (of course, after steeping), then it’s trash.

There’s always aroma, the enhancer is what’s more problematic to buy officially nowadays.

All kinds of refrigeration eventually extends its ‘life’, so I do the same. Nic frozen, aroma, part of the soups in the fridge :slightly_smiling_face: if it fits, it won’t hurt….

Hi! I also have flavorings that have been in the linen storage for 3 years!:slight_smile: (for uncertain times like these) Unfortunately, I don’t know about freezing, this is new to me.. However, I don’t fill the old “expired” flavorings with as much base liquid as when they were new! e.g.: If I used to fill the 120ml bottle completely, now I only fill them to 3/4 (90-100 ml). It works for me like this without significant flavor loss! But I guess it depends on the flavoring here too, how each one behaves! (For me, the TNT tobaccos hold up quite well even after the expiration date.)

It’s not always possible to avoid a change in flavor without it, e.g., some component ‘oxidizes’, etc. Weakening by itself would be a lesser problem. :slightly_smiling_face: But for complex aromas, flavor change is also a real danger.
That refrigeration is good :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi! I also have several mixed in that are older than a year and a half. In the early days, I stored them in a dark place, and I didn’t notice any taste change (maybe I have taste blindness :face_with_spiral_eyes:). At the beginning of 2025, I switched to the fridge, at a stable 7-8 degrees. I still don’t feel any difference since then. I think airtight sealing and zero sunlight are the key, cooling just gives it extra time.

What do you mean by “more complex aroma”?

Anything that’s 2-3 ingredients, or more complex. About 80 percent of the aromas, and mainly dessert, dessert tobacco lines.
