Hello everyone ![]()
On most online platforms, the “view” is the only metric we use to judge how popular a post is.
But let’s admit it: a view by itself does not mean activity.
Someone might open a topic or post by accident, but that doesn’t mean they actually read it, reacted to it, or were genuinely interested. On most platforms, every scroll, page reload, or view from different devices is added and counts as extra. These factors do not show a real picture, but merely artificially inflated popularity.
On Vaperina, from now on – > we measure community life differently:
introducing the Post Score – a new visual value that shows the real activity associated with posts.

The Post Score appears in the top right corner of every public post if its value is greater than 0.
What is the Post Score?
This is an aggregate value that shows how active the Community was regarding a post.
It is calculated based on the following factors:
Reactions (reactions given to the post)
Replies (how much discussion the post initiated)
References (how many times the post was quoted or linked)
Bookmarks (how many people bookmarked or saved the post)
Reads (how many people actually read the post, not just opened it)
Each factor has a separate weight, so the system considers not only the quantity but also the quality of the interactions.
How is it different from views?
Unlike other sites where a view only indicates how many times the post was opened or seen,
the
Post Score reflects genuine community interest.
This means that:
- it doesn’t matter how many times it was clicked,
- but rather how much it engaged the community.
The Post Score thus provides a much more authentic picture of a post’s value and impact than mere visit counts.
Impacts
The Post Score is a visual feedback that helps quickly grasp how lively the conversation was. In the background, the system also considers the score during search:
posts with a higher score receive greater relevance, making them easier to find.

Why is this unique?
Most community platforms only count likes or views.
Vaperina, however, highlights real interactions — because for us, the Community matters, not the clicks.

This approach is both transparent and value-based:
the Post Score shows the activity, attention, and commitment of the members, not just statistics.
The Post Score measures community value, not popularity.
Important note!
The score update is not instantaneous; it is recalculated continuously as part of a background process based on the values above. Updating the score may take a few minutes, or longer for extensive topics…Update: Scores now update instantly!
