I don’t think there’s any problem with the DR Pro RDA, it’s just that you might not have found the right wire and cotton combination for yourself yet. Many people swear by simple wire, but some also like more complex wires. This unfortunately requires time and a small financial investment. Anyone can recommend any wire or cotton if, in the end, you might not like it.
But to answer your question, I think the DR Solo is a very good atomizer IF it has the right wire and cotton in it. 
I had a bad experience with the stock coil. I put something else in instead, and from then on, there was no stopping me.
