But I’ll try it later, if citric acid doesn’t work.

Just a good tip that we’ve already written a few times here on the 
page. After you’ve finished cleaning and the parts have dried, it’s advisable to thinly coat the O-rings with a cotton swab dipped in PG, VG, or even base liquid before reassembly.
This way, you can avoid the tank getting stuck, and you’ll also protect the integrity of the rubber rings with this method.
