This is my desktop mod, I don’t take it anywhere, I take care of it, it was also expensive. The day before yesterday, I came home to the smell of burnt bakelite wafting through pretty much the entire apartment, and I couldn’t find the cause (I had a guess, but no fault anywhere). Then I tried to vape from the Ant, but no picture, no sound. I took off its side, then I realized this was the cause of the burnt plastic, bakelite smell…
I know it’s not the DNA board’s fault, but this is the last DNA stuff I bought, and I take everything apart to tiny screws, I inspect it no matter how elite the device is. I guess a sloppy soldering joint gave way.
It’s really lucky the house didn’t burn down… It’s truly scary to think about. I made battery holders, took the batteries out of all unused devices… Although this behavior is not typical for me…
Looking for a DNA75C board here, and I also have a device for sale if anyone is interested (Vicious Ant Spade 18650 DNA75C) (=
Thanks Zoli! I saved the page! I’ll ask around a bit more, in case someone nearby has one. The one I have at home has a monochrome display, and I took it out of a two-axis module (it occurred to me in the meantime).
A bit of a horror. Interesting, there’s no sign of liquid anywhere. The chip failed, but looking at the other solderings, I rather suspect something failed on the board.
The motherboard is often fine, but during final assembly, the external connecting wires are soldered poorly. One might have detached, shifted, touched something there, and caused a short circuit…
Ultimately, a silver lining: the manufacturer had locked the board, meaning I could hardly adjust anything, as everything was locked. Well, that won’t be the case now…
Not far from my home, there is a market every Sunday. I see people in droves carrying purchased items towards their cars – German-sounding brands similar to Stihl lawnmowers.
But this is also seen with Flex and Hilti… etc. Then, the following week, the same people are carrying the previously purchased items back from their cars towards the market, hoping for warranty…
Am I the only one who feels we might be witnessing the closure of a Dicodes factory?
This is unfortunately the case. The economy, the market, the media always serve the public taste… only this way can it sustain itself.
The judgment of value, taste resides in them, they measure this – probe it, and serve it up on a platter.
But sooner or later we can reach a point where we realize, after many disappointments, that we desire something else. We look around the market, then we experience that we have put the undeserving in a position and sidelined the deserving…
And here we are only discussing the world of Vape!
