In my opinion, top airflow and/or liquid shut-off is important.
Plus, I prefer it if the air hits the coil completely from below.
Oh, and one of the most important things: when the airflow is closed, you shouldn’t be able to draw air through the tank 
…at most, with such a strong sucking effort that you would never use…but the best is if no air can pass through at all.
