I wouldn’t call it junk exactly, a friend uses it for on-the-go. I can only guess without seeing it:

  1. Could the head be faulty? Have you tried another one?
  2. DL or MTL? If DL, it’s not opening properly and the head gets flooded. If MTL, it’s too restricted, same issue.
  3. When filling, do you wait for the head to soak, or do you cover it and draw in a vacuum to make it usable faster? This can also cause it.
  4. If everything is fine so far, then I would go for a 60/40-70/30 VG ratio.
