Omajdzsizusz. My old grandpa sprayed the aphids with that back in the day I guess it produces completely different flavors than store-bought aromas.

What your dad did - and mine too - was soak the tobacco leaves in water for a few days, so that the nicotine would dissolve in the water.
That wasn’t an extract, just a leachate. It had nothing to do with the taste of tobacco; the goal there was to leach out the nicotine - as a poison - that’s what killed the bugs.
This extract is chemically broken-down tobacco, specifically for the purpose of extracting and concentrating the tobacco flavor. In this process, the nicotine content is secondary, even undesirable, as it distorts the flavors to some extent.
