I can only give my personal opinion.. For me, it’s a complete loss of ‘expertise’. Because in the very old videos there was more than just e-liquid mixing or advertising disposables.

The disposable [vape] and whoever invented it. Damn them. For now, the burden of recycling doesn’t fall on the manufacturer. But despite this, they make the customer pay for many things. Furthermore, the customer doesn’t even think about handling it properly as waste.

Let’s go back to the first version of the “manó rudi”. Metal housing, little plastic, tiny electronics. It was easy to disassemble/repair because of the metal housing and was recyclable in every aspect. The cylinder-type battery was replaced by the factory standard “brick” body, which was usable on its own, Lipo4 class 400mAh. That’s standard for headphones, controllers, smart bracelets, etc. The plastic is grade 3 PE or ABS. Apart from the cotton, everything else went back into the cycle if handled properly. But now there are chunkier gadgets with small LCD panels, sensors, PE bodies, larger batteries. Here, the larger battery itself is the danger because even if discarded, it will over-discharge despite the protection. It becomes unstable and the whole thing becomes a nice little fireball in Mario’s hands.
