How do you roll, how do you wick? 😊

Let the mix begin  everything can be twisted/mixed with everything :hugs:

I’m thinking about whether I should keep these twists/rolls as a backup, or if they have really served their purpose?

I tried the alien coil in the Stubby 21700. At 45W, it already gives pretty good flavors. I think going higher is no longer suitable for an AIO, it heats up a lot. @gangsta_gergo thanks for the coils.:fire: It will be great in the Stalk RDA, it can go higher there.:slightly_smiling_face:

Sure, I’ll just work on them with 1800-grit sandpaper

Dear fellow vapers! I have a question. I wouldn’t say I’m a pro, but I’ve been building my own coils for quite a few years. However, with this Dvarw, I’m experiencing a phenomenon where one leg of the coil starts glowing more than the other after a while, no matter what wire I use or what resistance I build. As a result, the coil dies prematurely, and I don’t like constantly replacing them; it’s better if they last through a few cleanings/dry burns. So, what do you think the problem might be?

Aren’t the asymmetric metal masses between the poles of deck 2? Maybe it’s a stupid idea
but one coil half is better cooled, better heat dissipation

Hi

Although I don’t understand dwarwok (dwarwok) :winking_face_with_tongue: but!

This could be several things.

You don’t pull the legs evenly when winding (they aren’t equally tight) or the heating leg doesn’t make proper contact.

This could be a little dirt that might have remained under the clamp/holder or the screw at some point, or there’s less cotton on that leg

Hi, I remember something, maybe on the end where it heats up more, the coil is bigger than in the middle. The wadding inside is a bit looser, and that’s why it heats up more. Maybe this isn’t your problem, but it might be worth looking into it :+1:.

It has done this to me too. It was a clone, though. Sometimes a little dirt gets between the threads, in a size equivalent to an ant’s treasure. Well, that stresses the screw and the magnet moves differently.

Possibly, a loop of wire from an old winding is smoothed into the thread under the screw

Thank you for the tips! I’ll take it apart and check it thoroughly next time. It only really happens when I clean it and change the cotton. I always tighten the screws, and when I experience this, I check them too.

Try to take the deck apart into its components as much as possible, and while you’re at it, give it a thorough ultrasonic bath along with the other parts! That can never hurt and might even be useful

Thank you! I just wrote about trying this too, cleaning it piece by piece.
By the way, I have spare parts, so I’ve already tried replacing the retaining screws, but unfortunately, it didn’t help. However, disassembling and ultrasonic cleaning is still an option.

This happens to me sometimes too
especially at the first ring that I wind onto the winding aid. Since I noticed this, I do it by gripping both ends of the legs with pliers and tightening them, so the spool becomes even.

Sometimes the cotton isn’t completely uniform on both sides either, so I adjust that too.

A thorough cleaning doesn’t hurt anyway.

It seems such small things also matter. :slightly_smiling_face:

I always pull the coil’s legs to get a roughly uniform, tight coil. As I wrote, I noticed the phenomenon without cotton, during cleaning. When a new coil is made, it still glows nicely as it should, the problem usually appears later.

If it appears later, it could also be due to uneven coking.

I find it strange because I haven’t experienced this with other boilers before.
