Hi! Of course, I’ll help if I can! It’s a bit of a bummer if your mixing stuff goes down the drain, but don’t worry, we’ll find it! :wink:

Graduated glassware (beaker) and a magnetic stirrer bar are quite specialized lab equipment, so you won’t find them at the National Tobacco Shop, but luckily, there are a few places in Budapest where you can get them with personal pickup.

I searched on Google to see where you can get such laboratory glassware items, and these are the most likely results where it’s worth looking around:

These companies mainly supply other companies, but some have a retail unit or personal pickup option. You’ll most easily find the stirrer bar (Teflon-coated magnet) here.

  • Laboratorium.hu Ltd.
    • Although mainly online ordering, it’s worth checking if they have a personal pickup point in Budapest.
  • Biolab Ltd.
    • They also deal with laboratory equipment, check their website to see if they have retail sales.
  • Chemical Goods Stores
    • Look for older, well-established chemical stores, such as S.O.S. Vegyiáru (if it’s still in its old location), or other chemical shops located around the VIII. district. They often carry basic glassware.

:test_tube: DIY Ingredient Stores

If lab supplies are too complicated, sometimes DIY stores selling brewing or cosmetic ingredients might carry beakers. However, the magnetic stirrer bar is less likely here.

My best tip: Search on Google Maps for “laboratóriumi eszközök bolt Budapest” or “kémiai bolt Budapest”. Before you go, always call them to see if they have the measuring glass and stirrer bar you need in stock!
