Al Carlo aroma experience report courtesy of Gandalf Liquid

Here I am with the promised Al Carlo experience report. To be honest, I was really looking forward to them maturing. Their scent already enchanted me. :yum: It was quite difficult to wait out that 7-day steeping period. But before I dive in, I must write that the 24H courier service brought the package, and to my great surprise, the package arrived in just under 17 and a half hours from pickup. Hopefully, it can stay this way, because that’s a damn good pace! If they can maintain this speed in the future, then if you need something quickly, head to the Gandalf Liquid webshop! Just as a side note, this is a faster delivery time than any competitor webshop. I sincerely wish that @ButcherHUN and his team can expand their offerings as soon and smoothly as possible. Unfortunately, we live in a world where people can turn away from webshops due to delivery times. But with fast delivery, it’s guaranteed that the customer base will grow. So, all that’s left for Gandalf Liquid is to move forward!

Well, let’s get a bit closer to the point. I tested the liquids in three tanks. The Trio, Berserker V2, and Brünhilde MTL were available to me. These cover a pretty wide range in terms of airflow, so I set them up to be able to vape the liquids in every usage mode within the MTL spectrum, from very tight to very airy. And of course, I varied the coils accordingly. I tested the settings for a week, so I feel I was able to try out every version completely. I also tried to set up a recommended setup for each flavor. This way, I can help the future buyer.

But let’s not forget that every experience report is subjective! I won’t keep you waiting any longer…

Berry Tree – Forest fruit and tobacco

In a freshly wicked tank, the first puffs brought a somewhat sweet, but muted fruit medley. I deliberately didn’t write “sweet,” it’s just slightly sweet due to the fruit. The tobacco slightly dulls the sweet taste of the fruits, but not too much. This gives the liquid a muted character where you definitely feel the fruit, right alongside the tobacco. These two flavors complement each other perfectly. It’s slightly reminiscent of mixed fruit black tea, but due to the distinctive tobacco flavor, you know it’s a definite tobacco flavor that’s in perfect proportion with the forest fruits, complementing each other perfectly. As I lowered the wattage and airflow, the tobacco started to dominate more and more, but the fruits didn’t let go. However, as I reversed the process, trying more wattage and more air, the sweet line started to clear up more and more, but the harmony of tobacco and fruit in the liquid remained the same. This is a very distinct and extremely delicious blend. Excellent as an all-day vape!

Recommended setup:
Around 0.8-1 ohm, preferably in an RTA with a small chamber. Airflow somewhere between restrictive and airy. But I believe it will deliver as expected in a DL tank too.

Salted Caramel – Salted caramel and tobacco

Honestly, I wasn’t expecting this. I thought it would be sweet. Or at least slightly sweet. Well, it’s neither. But it’s not bad this way. In fact… It’s a pleasant composition, e.g., with coffee, or with some robust brown beer. It would even hold its own alongside a dry gin as a companion. Because the liquid made from this flavor is dry! I’m not surprised, it’s Indian summer, dry as a desert lake… Here, the tobacco is the guiding element, no doubt about it. The salted caramel is very much in the background; you can’t really taste it. And you can’t taste the salt either. Basically, when we consume salted caramel, the salt emphasizes the sweet taste, makes it better, and a hint of saltiness appears as a secondary flavor. Well, I didn’t experience that here. I think the salt might have emphasized the tobacco here. Regardless of it being dry (it dried out my mouth too), it’s a tasty stuff, just not suitable for everything. However, as the coil got gunked up, the dry feeling started to fade. With higher wattage and airflow, the vapor is a bit suffocating. But at lower settings, it’s pleasant, like some piquant dry tobacco. The flavor doesn’t hit you hard; I’d call it quite mild. Not weak, let’s not confuse the two, just not ostentatious. In a word, a pleasant experience.

Recommended setup:
Around 1 ohm and in a tight chamber with little airflow. I mixed this at 10% as well, but I think it could handle 12%.

Vivid Tea – Iced tea and tobacco

In a freshly wicked tank, at first glance, I got a rather strange flavor profile. It was as if the liquid was angry with me. I got a defiant flavor at first; the lemon literally hit me. But it eventually surrendered. I was actively searching for the tea note, which only emerged after I had vaped about a quarter of the tank. Until then, only the lemon was puffing away. Here, the tobacco is quite assertive compared to the faint taste of the tea. Tea… I thought a lot about what to compare it to. Then it hit me. Plain, natural yellow Lipton. As I lowered the wattage and airflow, that defiance I initially felt started to smooth out. It’s quite good with tight airflow. However, when I increased the wattage and airflow, it started to resemble hookah tobacco (shisha) more and more, and when I ventured even higher, I distinctly felt a slightly sweet-sour note. But above 18-20 watts, it loses its original character and becomes more like shisha. This isn’t an all-day vape for me; it’s more suitable for relaxing. Like when one contemplates hookah after a tiring day. It’s not a bad aroma, by no means. In fact, by the end of the test, I almost missed it if I hadn’t vaped it for a while. As the coil got gunked up, it became tastier. But after a while, it became too much for me. It’s certain that this will be a divisive flavor for many of us. You need to invest time in the coil and experimentation to find the configuration that works best for you.

Recommended setup:
I recommend this at 10w or below and above 1 ohm, close to a restrictive draw.

Sun Dried Peaches – Peach and tobacco

This would be a truly sweet peach if the tobacco didn’t hold it back. So, it’s just slightly sweet. Thanks to the tobacco, it got a background note that is simply divine! The tobacco is absolutely not overdone; the peach pulls it along. For me, it’s slightly scratchy on the exhale, but not disturbingly so, just barely. This aroma in one word: perfect! When I started lowering the wattage and airflow, I didn’t feel it differently. However, as I increased the values, the scratchiness increased proportionally. I think there’s a difference between just scratchy and having a throat hit (TH). By the end of my attempts (around 18w), it became slightly TH-heavy for me. And the tobacco lurking in the background started to push forward, but even then, it didn’t overpower the peach. The liquid made from this flavor pairs very well with soft drinks and can easily be an all-day vape. No.1 for me!

Recommended setup:
Around 0.6-0.8-1 ohm, in airy MTL or DL. It will be scratchier, slightly TH-heavy in DL.

Roasted Cinnamon – Cinnamon and tobacco

I don’t know how to describe this special perfection. For those who like dessert flavors, and within those, cinnamon ones, I think this aroma will be an unmissable flavor. Here, tobacco and cinnamon go hand in hand. They match incredibly well. Perhaps cinnamon is more dominant, but the tobacco gives it a truly faint smokiness that makes the whole thing piquant. I didn’t taste the tobacco separately, it blends perfectly with the cinnamon, which in this liquid is neither suffocating (like pure cinnamon) nor sweet (like in cinnamon cookies). Simply perfect. Even on exhale, only this mouth-watering blend is noticeable. Absolutely unputdownable! For me, this is the other No.1! This flavor is special because no matter how I adjusted the tanks, this cinnamon tobacco delivered the same result with every configuration. Therefore, I won’t write a recommended setup for this. Put it in anything, it should be delicious!

PG-VG

Along with the aromas, some PG and VG also arrived. Naturally, separately and without nicotine, as the law requires. I vaped 3ml of the mixture of the two unflavored, just to dispel all my doubts. Both by smell and by vaping, it’s perfect and clean! Mixing with this will also result in a clean and delicious finished liquid! (By the way, I intend to use this nicotine-free base later.) I’d like to touch on the labeling, as some aromas will also feature Gandalf Liquid’s own label. In accordance with current laws, the label must include, among other things, the ingredients, manufacturer, distributor, and expiration date (the latter can be on a separate sticker). Accordingly, Gandalf Liquid has placed a really cool and stylish, self-designed sticker on products that need to be portioned. Such as PG and VG, but there are a few aroma brands that are only available in large quantities for resellers. These are labeled by hand after portioning. I like the label design. This is Gandalf Liquid! This is how it’s done!

Bottle

And finally, of course, it also matters what we fill our homemade liquid into. After mixing the fine aromas and PG-VG, I also received 5 empty 110ml spout bottles. The bottle is quite important to me, as it’s annoying to fill our tank from a hard-walled bottle. And it’s also a common problem (at least for me) that even if I screw on the spout cap and the dropper cap, some of my bottles don’t seal properly, so the liquid leaks at the threads. If this happens in a bag, it’s a real disaster! The bottles distributed by Gandalf Liquid seal perfectly everywhere, hermetically. They have soft walls, making filling easy with them. Although this is a small thing, I believe it can bring peace of mind to Vapers. Therefore, the bottle also has priority.

I have no complaints!
The PG-VG is clean and smooth! The bottles are good quality. The delivery arrived very quickly, and I even received a gift.  As for the aromas: This new flavor profile for me was very captivating. These are full-bodied aromas without exception, thanks to the tobacco. A little tobacco really elevated these otherwise basic flavors. However, it remains a mystery to me whether the manufacturer used the same tobacco for all flavors. Because the character of the tobaccos showed some differences, only difficult to discern since tobacco isn’t the driving force here. But perhaps it’s just because of the added flavors that they changed slightly. When the coils started to gunk up, the flavors blended softly into each other, creating a pleasant harmony. Which was expected, but here I didn’t experience flavor blending (where flavors merge into one) which can happen with a 4-5-6-7-8-24 flavor aroma or concentrate. When flavors blend, it means that an aroma with many flavors completely transforms into a different flavor during gunking. It loses the balance between flavors that is present with a fresh coil, and one might say a new, strange flavor emerges that doesn’t resemble what’s written in the description at all. The fact that the flavors remained intact in these aromas is only thanks to Al Carlo realizing that less can indeed bring more than more.

We wish Gandalf Liquid great success! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: We eagerly await the expanding flavor palette!

Thank you for the opportunity and for reading! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: Have a vapor-rich day! :kissing_heart:

Ha egyszer ezek elfogynak, akkor a barackosat és a fahéjasat mindenképp. Azok lettek a kedvenceim, az áll a legközelebb hozzám. De ennek ellenére bármelyiket szívesen fogyasztanám.

Köszönöm a megerősítést. A leírásod alapján is ezek álltak közelebb hozzám. Mindketten a bakancslistámra kerültek. Első helyen állnak a következő beszerzési listámon. :star_struck:

Szia Kinga! Gratula, jó lett! Kész leves színére lennék kiváncsi ill. édesítő mellékízt érezni? Mennyire kokszol?

Friss keveréskor:

Ezt most csináltam:
